Not arguing the validity of Global Warming here, but you realize that increased weather extremes, including heat waves, droughts, floods, intense cold spells, blizzards, etc, are specifically called for as part of the overall climate change scenario that Gore championed.  It's a funny pic, but doesn't really work as a jab.

One of the explanations for this cold air coming down so far over the states is precisely because the tropics were warmer than usual, creating more of a pull/high-low pressure effect on the jet stream.  Also, wonder what the weather is like on the other side of the northern hemisphere?  I have noticed that when Russia and Europe are having especially horrible winters, we have unusually mild ones.  The "cold blob" seems to just shift up or down over one or the other land mass more dramatically on occasion.

I too believe that Climate Change is real.  Climate has always changed and will continue to change. Arctic Oscillation is normal.  We will experience excessive cold periods and excessive hot periods. Oceanic oxygen production and CO2 absorption will fluctuate, as will terrestrial CO2 and oxygen production and absorption. Cycles will not be the same every year, century, or millennia. Climate periods will contract and expand.  They will continue to change, and take different courses, just as they have for 4.5 billion years.

There will be another ice age.  Asteroids will strike the Earth.  Continents will shift.  Whole populations will be decimated by disease.  Our existence only represents a fraction of a second in Earth time.  We will ultimately perish, and sooner or later there will be no evidence that we ever existed.

In the meantime Climate politics will always offer a convenient hobgoblin to keep the populous alarmed and motivated towards shifting resources to various political ends.  In the long run, productivity is the ultimate salvation for the human race, because it creates innovation and increases efficiency.  

There absolutely is evidence that the Arctic ice cap is shrinking.  Just as it has before 5,000 years ago.  There is also absolute evidence that the Antarctic ice cap is growing just as it has millennia before. This is nature's fault.  This is man's fault.  Man is part of nature.  Algae is part of nature. Trees are part of Nature.  We cannot divorce ourselves from the system.  Sure, we must be good stewards of our environment, but we must continue to use energy and develop new efficiency, not because we are motivated by fear, but because we are motivated by opportunity!

That Al Gore picture is a hoot, ya know the global warming alarmists even have excuses for the ships stuck in the ice at the south pole and the bitter cold snap we had.  One claim was the north pole was getting so warm that it pushed the cold air down the globe, (the polar warm air displaced the cold polar air and the cold air moved south), others say the melting polar ice sheets broke apart and drifted south in the ocean and the ice chilled the ocean and chilled the air making for the cold weather... I  Remember the talk in 2005 the global warming wackos said that we'd have bad hurricanes every year because of global warming- we'll have Katrinas every year, well so far we went 7 or 8 years with no big hurricanes. Actually global warming is not really about science anyhow, it's a political movement, they are using climate alarmism to try and control the people and make regulations.

How about the record hot temperatures right now that Australia is seeing?  Siberia is also warmer than normal.  Let's remember that the world doesn't consist solely of America, and the phrase is "Global"....
