Exxon Mobil trying to hide oil spill?

What's going on? There is currently a no-fly zone over Mayflower, Arkansas. Exxon Mobil seems to be trying to be secretive about their clean up efforts. I've also heard, though not confirmed, that they have intimidated journalists and are using questionable methods of cleaning the up the oil. Why is the government allowing this? People should be able to know the potential dangers of oil pipelines along with the benefits.

The handling of this situation has become infuriating. Someone please enlighten me to something that makes sense.

Thanks for looking that up to get the straight scoop.

Being restricted to flying above 1000 ft AGL is not a big deal except for the 3 airplanes that reside at the private airport near the spill.

It looks like the airport at Conway (to the north) is just outside the TFR area.  The main runway at Conway is E-W so there shouldn't be much if any problem.

If the oil company has asked for it for the safety of their helo crews, I completely understand. 

"The pilot of the helicopter needs to be able to move about freely without potential conflicts with other aircraft," Mr. Lunsford wrote in an email. He said similar restrictions are regularly put in place when aircraft are used in disaster response.

The restriction was amended Wednesday to allow aircraft carrying members of the media as long as flights are properly coordinated.
