Tulsa Police will be out watching for speeders in construction zones beginning Monday through the end of the month.

They especially will be targeting the highway 169-BA Expressway interchange.

Tickets can cost from $150 to $500 and can include up to ten days in jail.

Police tell KRMG that if you get stopped, you will get a ticket.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Can I make a citizens arrest or issue a citizens citation the next time a TPD cruiser nearly hits me head on in a parking lot because the officer is too busy jabbering on his cell phone to notice my SUV?

All I can say is thank God for reverse!

If you make the attempt, would you please have someone video it and post it here?

Of course not. They are above the law. Don't even try.

I wish they would have a crackdown on crime like they do for "speeders" and "seatbelts". Just think if all that manpower flooded into high crime zones of Tulsa what a difference that would make. What a waste of manpower to have cops sitting clocking cars all day while the crime rate skyrockets.

Right on.

Call Mary Fallin and get her to fix this insanity.  She's allowed way to much crime to exist in Oklahoma for far too long.

I've heard she knows one or two troopers pretty well.  Ask her to pull some strings.

If your special interest can put together a couple thousand dollars in grants to pay overtime, you can get about any department to make the type and number of arrests you want.

It's not a trap if they warn you in advance. It nets the oblivious and stupid.  They deserve what they get.

May you live in interesting times.

This makes little sense because they have had OHP stationed there non-stop anytime they are actually doing work in the area, otherwise they take down the construction zone signs.

No, no, Michael. Your peeps recycle aluminum cans. These ones toss them out along the road.

It's not just the OHP, the local Tulsa cops run speed traps too--- when IMO that man power could be better served by patrolling high crime areas. Looking for speeders/seatbelts is a waste of manpower. I thought there was a shortage of cops in Tulsa? They got manpower to waste of speeders, so there should be no excuse for slow response times.

I thought the shortage of manpower was between your ears.

Of course, these are crimes too, but lets follow your logic (?) to its conclusion. Take down speed limit signs and stop producing them. That will save lots of taxpayer money. Repeal seat belt laws and go to court to fight federal laws on seatbelts. Once again to save taxpayer money by not enforcing them. Then traffic cops can go find real crime (of which we anxiously await a description).

Then sit back and pay your higher insurance premiums til they stop offering insurance in this state.
