This is not the same President 0bama

I disagree with Boehner and the other Republicans and Democrats who are against the "Grand Bargain". The president's compromise is an excellent idea, even if he intends to blow the revenues like a drunk college girl at the mall. The tax cuts will effect the economy far more positively, and for far longer, than the new spending could damage it.

This is not a new proposal. It has been offered in part by both parties in the past. It is the definition of compromise and offers the first glimpse of an administration willing to pose a meaningful and non-political option.  Republicans and Democrats in congress need to embrace it as a new beginning.

Time to write letters.

A cousin of mine worked in the meat dept as a butcher back in the early 80s (Albertson's/AlphaBeta).  He might chime in about that.

Tony Casillas' mother also worked at the one on 21st/Memorial at the same time.  Right about the time Tony was at EC.

Would love to hear what he says.  IIRC, seems like the butchers were one group that had some serious complaints about the place...

I had a relative working there around that time, too.  Most "rose colored glasses" woman in the world....one has to go WAY above and beyond to get her to say anything bad about anyone.  She said it wasn't "that nice" a place to work...management didn't treat people very well.  She liked the people she worked with a lot - they were great.  I met a few and agree.

That 21st store was a Skagg's to start with, then re-branded to Albertson's...same company, new name.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

What do you say about a company that gives their marketing manager a "Just Say No" award for not buying advertising that wasn't scheduled a year in advance? Think they may have missed some opportunities? I can't criticize them too much though. They liked my airboat and purchased space on it for a year. Then they went under.

In that kind of business, advertising IS life!!

As in WalMart.  Quik Trip.

Sonic is over $2 million a week on targeted tv ads.  And they can track ads to sales translations very well.
