The copy for those who can't open the TulsaWorld...
A hotel near ONEOK Field is planned on three-quarters of a block that the Tulsa Stadium Trust agreed to sell Friday for $1.9 million. Promise Hotels, a local management company, is the buyer of the property, which is located on a block bounded by Detroit and Elgin Avenues, Archer Street and the BNSF railroad.
The sale does not include the block's northeast one-quarter, which is occupied by Perimeter Technology Center. The property is also known as the Fleenor Block, and sits diagonally across the intersection of Elgin and Archer from ONEOK Field's southwest corner.

It looks like this is the old tire store? I had no idea that the stadium trust owned property so far removed from the ONEOK adjacent. I also noticed a big dumpster in front of the old night club that is directly west of the Driller's ticket office on Elgin.

New hotel planned for downtown Tulsahttp://www.fox23.com/news/local/story/New-hotel-planned-for-downtown-Tulsa/vbVJt1U_7kWi7K6w2zmgXA.cspxNew growth in downtown Tulsa won't just be about Tulsans shopping, living and eating downtown, but also about tourists staying downtown.
There are plans for a new hotel in the Brady District on archer, between Elgin and Detroit.
The developer told FOX23 there are plans for a 5-story Holiday Express hotel.
"Our location is ideal for business traveler as well as the leisure traveler," said Pete Patel, CEO of Promise Hotels.
He said he has a good idea of how to fill rooms in Tulsa, he already owns nine hotels around Tulsa.
Now, he's ready to join the rush to build up downtown.
"I think we're at the point where Tulsa is just about to really break out from what it is. And we're very excited. These are some exciting times for downtown Tulsa," he said.
It's the heart of the Brady District, right across from ONEOK field and just across the train tracks from downtown's business district.
It won't be the first hotel in the area.
"The Brady Fairfield that is already there is just, no pun intended, knocking it out of the park," said Delise Tomlinson with the Tulsa Regional Chamber.
But she said there's plenty of potential for another hotel to hit it big.
Patel hopes to break ground on the Holiday Inn Express in about six to eight months. The whole development should be finished within about 15 months.

So it’s a five story Holiday Inn Express built by a suburban small hotel owner named Patel (aren’t they all?), probably about 150-200 rooms. No mention of any retail or structured parking so it’s likely to be a pretty suburban type of build with little to no street interaction. The picture of the hotel in the video looks ok and it’s being built up against the railroad tracks and the bridges over them so it’s not a prime site anyway. Overall not great, but not terrible.
Will Wilkin’s new hotel across the street is a more important location to have something that interacts with the neighborhood and he is talking multi-use and underground parking.

I don’t share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently. I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I have only stayed in a hotel downtown once. It was the Hyatt and I heard the horns several times and it is a few blocks away. I can only imagine trying to sleep closer to the tracks.

I stay at a place near OKC that is about 800 feet from the train. Becomes soothing after a while.....
