Number One Daughter asked if any holiday pop up shops would be downtown this year. I said I I didn't know, but I knew who to ask. What should I tell her?

Looks like yes, starting Dec 4.  Haven't seen any shop lists, though. http://decodistricttulsa.com/events/pop-up-shops-2013/

Probably limited since most of those spaces are now occupied by full time businesses.

What a great thing that is: we are running out of available retail space on Boston Ave...whoever would have thought this would be the case a few years ago. Time to pop up on Main Street?

More this year than last actually.

They list 21 holiday pop-up shops, but 10 of those on the list are permanent.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the downtown pop-ups and us old timer "anchor stores" (DECOPOLIS turned one year old this month). Still feel like a newbie with lots of work to do till we become a "real" store.  Anywhoo, ran the numbers for today and we had our best day ever!  There were actually crowds strolling down the sidewalks and shopping/dining in the Deco District. Thank You!

Lights On in the Deco District is 6:30 tonight.  Only a tad nippy and no wind, so a perfect December evening. We have fire pits up and down the street, one in front of DECOPOLIS for roasting marshmallows and making smores!  We will also have free hot cocoa and hot tea inside.  Come on out and enjoy a beautiful holiday evening downtown.

I got two well-appreciated birthday gifts from Decopolis, thanks to my daughter who understands the value in supporting local.

You all might spam consumers to get out there today-Wednesday afternoon as the weather will be absolutely miserable Wednesday evening through at least Monday.

Actually, the front should come through Wednesday...Thursday AM is when the precip is forecast to start.  Could be a mixture of the big three (freezing rain/sleet/snow) or any other combination of those.  Precip continues through Thursday and should end early Friday Morning with another chance beginning on Saturday.  Tough to say though, since winter precip is a huge wildcard to forecast more than 24 hours out.  Ask me more Tuesday night.

The Pop-up shops are advertising that the open at 10am daily. This apparently applies only to the temporary shops as all of the permanent ones were closed at 11:30 today.

Our shop is always open per our posted hours, and often more.  I was either out of the loop about the new hours/days for the pop ups or somehow forgot (think I am only getting part of the conversations per the e-mails and also apparently missed some of the ideas when I was gone a month in London,,, I didn't even realize we were having the Smores thing during the Lights On)  When I heard about the new hours (which are different from last years) this past weekend I was unable to change my schedule in time and did not feel comfortable asking the employees on such short notice.  We will however start being open the new hours this morning and be open the next Monday.
