After suggesting that someone should take a Smoot in Sarah Palin's mouth. . .

Frankly, I wouldn't' know who martin Bashir was without this story.  Perhaps he and Alec can start their own network or join AlGorzera?

MSNBC has been trying really hard lately to clean up their image by eliminating the haters, racists, and other inflammatory personalities.  They have even started reporting the news rather than simply offering state sponsored commentary.

They got rid of Olbermann (not really "lately") Bashir and Baldwin...Still working? Ed "talk slut" Schultz and Mark "kind of a dick" Halperin...

I didn't realize Olberdoosh was back at ESPN until I saw him on The Deuce last night.  Nothing to see there...

Yes. Let the crapping in the mouths of those making slavery comparison's continue...

Yeah, the striking fast food workers, and the Walmart protesters never materialized here. They did not show because they are making more money than the loggers and those that work in the timber industry here. Fortunately things are improving, I live a mile from a Weyerhaeuser mill, they are running two shifts, and they just reopened the rail line between that mill and Coos Bay for shipment of actual lumber, and wood chip production. I have a different perspective on timber production after living here for two and a half years.

Also, there is a upswing in ship building. A ship builder in Charleston OR has completed two or three ships with more on order for the fishing industry. The basic ship is built there, then sent to Portland for final outfitting. Charleston has a population of about 2000 people and they have added about 150 new jobs.

Remind me again. Which network started with the haters, racists, inflammatory personalities, and party sponsored commentary rather than news? And which one responded in kind as defense? Who purchased the Wall Street Journal as back up?  Fox or MSNBC?

FOX and Murdoch.

They didn't materialize here either. Having a low paying, slave wage job is better than no job for most of us. A reasonable increase in the minimum is long overdue and the arguments against it have never been based on reality.

How has your view of the timber industry changed with your new insights?

Interesting reading on the history of the two networks.  MSNBC actually hit the airwaves a few months ahead of Fox.  Believe it or not, conservative icons Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham were joined by John Gibson at MSNBC in the early days.  In later years, they even had Alan Keyes and Michael Savage as show hosts.

Doesn't get much more inflammatory on the conservative side than Savage, or arch liberals Keef Olberdoosh and Rachel Madcow.

That's likely why Fox went so 'crazy-donkey-right', to compete.

Look how it's turned out.
