You really need to show your math.

You have lost it gaspar.

You can't possibly be this dense. Both Presidents spent millions if not billions on travel. Laura Bush went to Africa five times and took her daughters on a safari.

Why was that taxpayer expense OK and Obama's golf not OK?

Because you have lost grasp of reality?
Power is nothing till you use it.

Gasp, I really, really want to see your math on any of this.

For the record, Obama has been president for 3 weeks short of 5 years.

Even assuming all of Obama's 160 rounds of golf were played during the work day and never on the weekends and that no work was ever done during any golf outing and that Obama only works a standard 40 hour work week, all of which is ridiculous, how in the he!l do 160 instances of roughly 4 hour golf equal 320 work day equivalents?

A second grader can do the word problem that 160 rounds of golf at four hours each equals 80 eight hour days, not 320. You are off just a little bit, a rounding error maybe?

Gasp, you again gets an "F" on elementary school level math. I certainly hope your work does not involve numbers.

My educated guess would be that all presidents work 100+ hour work weeks, on vacation or not, and many and probably most of his rounds of golf involved work. But even so, the 640 total hours of golf would represent only about 2.5% of Obama's ~2500 work hours. And that's assuming that none of the golf happened on "personal" time.

Depends on whether or not he visits the 19th hole after each round and gets completely smootfaced.

Average game is 4-6 hours so I assumed 5, because after all he is the president, and probably doesn't rush through, so that's 800 hours.  He is also typically late for every press conference, and so I would assume that carries over into his private life and game too.

He starts his morning briefing later then the 6am schedule of his predecessors, and of course we know that he skips nearly half of these in leu of a PDF copy of the notes, so his work day is far smaller than his predecessors.

As for not playing during the week, he actually plays quite a bit during the week if you check out his schedule.  In fact on the day of the crisis in Syria, he went to the morning briefing and then hit the course at Andrews for 27 holes with ESPN TV personalities Tony Kornheiser and Mike Willbon, both experts in foreign policy I'm sure.

Durring the BP oil spill (which he compared to 9/11) he played golf three times, and went on vacation.

When the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Haiyan killing over 6,000, we found out that the president's "situation room" was hole #3 at the Grand Oaks where he was coordinating with NBA star (and foreign aid consultant) Alonzo Mourning.

In fact it seems that every time there is an important issue, we locate him on the golf course.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.  Some people like the desk, and some do not.

Perhaps RM is correct and I have lost it. Lets just chalk it up to that.  :D  I suppose I am more entertained by the Obamapoligists who, if this was any other president, would be livid that he take such liberties while at the same time producing such disappointing results.  Of course they are in the minority and his recent approval ratings are evidence that there are indeed a decreasing number of folks willing to ignore accountability and lay fanatical praise on irresponsibility.

Perhaps the most we can wish for is that he include more important foreign dignitaries on his golf outings so that we can more easily write them off as a "business expense." I hear Kim Jung Un is looking for a friend.

Your only thought on your ridiculous math is that I should use 5 hours per round?  Even if you assume 5 hours per round (you were the one that cited 4, by the way) your math is still complete crap.

I'm not even here to defend Obama, I'm just attacking your completely crap information.  Sarah Palin has better thought out arguments than you.

Nice fast step back from data into anecdotal information (uncited of course). That at least shows that you know you are full of crap because you won't even try to defend your data.

Your constant emoticons are always a nice touch though.   ;D >:( :o :-[ :P :'( :) They don't in any way make you look like a 13 year old girl, not at all.

You're starting to sound as if you don't like the president, Gas. He also takes time to watch television and read books.

Our former president read books too, and again, it took time away from critical tasks like bombing civilians and depriving people of their rights:

Come to think of it, they sound alike and you never see the two of them together. I wonder if......

Trolling here.

You guys are missing the point. Golf is an evil pastime that is addictive and a time waster. It is practiced by cult like groups that spend inordinate amounts of money on golfing equipment and use clandestine clubs that spread their evil to our young and are avoiding taxes through non profit status.

We need to outlaw golf before it sucks the life out of us all.

It has simply ruined many a politician.

And let's not start on their sartorial excesses. I'm a cyclist, so I'm OK with clingy spandex, but these guys are just plain weird:

C'mon Ed, you are comparing one arrogant, angry, alcoholic, abusive, in trouble with the law pro golfer, John Daly, with the rest of people that golf. That's like saying all cyclists are just like Lance Armstrong.

Eisenhower played 800.  WILSON 1000.  so what?

Obama plays as much as 10 round when in Hawaii.  He smoozes with officials, donors, the press, and politicians.  He clears his mind.  Who cares?

160 rounds in 5 years.  160 rounds in 250 or so weeks.  If that's his thing... who cares?

Can you imagine a good cycling day less than once per week?  Whatever you passion, less than one time per week?  That's not that much.
