Wow! OKC number 5! Honestly, I didn't think it was even close  to those other locations. And, the pic was Moore. OKC proper rarely gets hit. Its always the suburban towns that OKC annexed that seem to get the wrath. Satan knows where the real prospects reside.

If you are too naive to realize that according to that poll, Oklahomans do not wish to leave this state in droves (like in liberal Illinois or Connecticut), despite yours and other leftists in this forum best efforts to portray the people that live her as backward and  buffoons, I will not help you. To the contrary, it would seem that the people who are backward and buffoon-ish are those people that spend an enormous amount of time running down Oklahomans. THAT'S why I said some people might get their feelings hurt--and I was apparently right. Because no one other than YOU took issue with the poll (although I expected someone else would have joined you by now).

And yet, we are number 42 - down from 41 - in happiness.  Maybe it's because so many are too depressed to get off the couch, put down the beer, put the dog in the back of the pickup truck and leave.....

Guido... I have never argued that I should leave or anyone should leave.  While the fact is true that many, maybe even most of my friends have left - I don't want to.  We have a fundamental disagreement, I think diversity is an inherently good thing and want to see my community improveme.  You have stated if you don't like bit...leave.

That said, the fact remains that Oklahoma is poorly educated, financially poor, high crime, low social mobility, and statistically unhappy.  Noting the map you posted, the biggest reason for moving is work, followed by family. Odds are tons of people are drawn to the "high mover" locations by their jobs... the low mover list is mostly states with native industry or are move-to destinations of choice.

Not attracting huge influx of talent and not being a "destination" for many people, Oklahoma lands in then middle.
