Easy to see how that list came about - look for the lowest wages possible for the employees, while maintaining adequate availability of Country Clubs for the CEO....

Doesn't explain California being at the bottom of the list then.  Plenty of cheap Mexican labor, plenty of posh country clubs.

Ongoing drought.

Judging by the remarks from people who live in those states, people like their own states but are more than willing to throw the states they came from under the bus. I didn't see anything untrue in the article, but its still a judgement made by outsiders.

As far as the Obama worst president polls? Surely you remember the last few presidents who suffered that name calling in their second terms. This is payback.
You can feel secure America. GW was tons worse.

Not sure if this has been posted (about one year old), but Oklahoma has two of these.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/09/06/these-11-universities-are-awful-and-should-be-demolished-down-right-now/

Shows how the demolition of K-12 education funding in this state is proceeding exactly as planned by the charter and private school kabal.  The privileged get more privileged - better educated - while the less privileged are relegated to a world of 40% illiteracy and 30% high school dropout rates.  Yeah....we're doing "fine", Oklahoma.... Oklahoma is OK!

NOT great!  NOT exceptional!  NOT compelling to outside business'!  NOT an economic powerhouse!  NOT a "destination point" in anyone's mind - even other Okies!  We're "OK"....

Shines a light - or should - on Failin' calling for another $50 million in education cuts for FY15.  At the same time she is bragging about how she took office with zero money in the bank and now it is $500 million (one of her first campaign ads this season) - why not spend some of that huge pile on things the state needs?  NOT more tax cuts!

We have education, roads, bridges, state parks, capital building, no raises for state employees for 7 years,  infrastructure of ALL kinds in disarray and various stages of disintegration!  And what, exactly, has she done to help any of that in the last 4 years??   Got us a bright, new, shiny savings account with half a BILLION dollars sitting there doing nothing about any of those things.  And MORE tax cuts if she can get her way!!  And by the way, the reason we now have this money she is bragging about is because she has presided over this big ole stinky bucket of "do nothing carp"....Cuts all around!!

http://newsok.com/oklahoma-higher-education-leaders-hope-to-avoid-budget-cut/article/3943714

And this comment in that article alludes to the huge tax breaks oil gets in this state - "Boren and Hargis both support reducing the gross production tax exemption for horizontal wells to increase the available dollars for state appropriations.  Estimates of the money that would produce are pretty dramatic, Hargis said."

What do you wanna bet the same people being hurt the most from this will still vote for more of it!!??

That's a depressing website. Hope you don't spend much time there as its likely to erode the education you've attained. The editor/writer seems to be about 28 years old and besides being sarcastic is pretty unschooled about education. Wonder where he got his education and if it prejudiced his view.

Anyway, the comments section (in spite of its racist tone) took him to task on most of his efforts. For instance, Cameron is probably mostly populated by students from nearby Ft. Sill who end up transferred or change majors and colleges as most young people do. His criteria is %graduated in 6 years because he asserts that is the measure of success. Well to him it is. Many people find college isn't what they wanted or are suited for and move on to succeed in other fields. To him they are losers who went to a loser college.

Life is so easy when you ignore the details.

Um. This is college. Young people don't have to go to college. They certainly should not go the schools that cannot get their students to graduate.

It starts in K-12.  And the cuts OK has done came at all levels.  It really is all connected from start to finish!

No it isn't. It's the higher learning institution. Blaming Rogers and Cameron's failure to graduate students on what happened in a particular student's kindergarten year is just dumb.
