Firs SOTU I have chosen to miss since I was 11.

I assume it went something like this:
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

If she's screaming "obamacare bad" over and over, yes, that was the republican response.

It was the SOTU! That's the reason T was stockpiling Astroglide at Walgreen's yesterday.

Personal attacks.  That's all you've got these days.

Pretty sad

Not watching was actually quite liberating.  I think I'm going to take more opportunities to ignore His Majesty.

Did he say anything, or was it just "I have a pen. . .And that's the only thing I need is my pen. I don't need this Constitution or this rule of law. Just this ashtray... And this paddle game. - The ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need... And this remote control. - The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need... And these matches. - The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control, and the paddle ball... And this lamp. - The ashtray, this paddle game, and the remote control, and the lamp, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The paddle game and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches for sure. Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need."

I didn't bother.  The news afterwards seemed to summarize that if Congress won't give him his way, he will simply write laws. Because that's what petulant children monarchs presidents are s'posed to do.

Obama's "Mad Men" reference was pretty funny in the context of women in the workplace--although I thought a Clenis workplace example would have been more relevant. But overall, the speech was successful since I heard Chris Matthews had another "thrill" moment.

Well, it seems he is done.  No intensions of working with anyone.  The MSM is rolling out the praise for his decree to increase minimum wage for federal contractors, but someone did the math this morning and within that workforce there are only about 2,000 employees that would qualify.  So again like Obamacare, he intends to make grand declarations that positively effect a small minority, and negatively affect the larger populous.

No one was really talking about anything else in the speech except a government regulated IRA system that I assume will morph into an attempt to change tax laws or otherwise provide additional federal income.  Of course I don't know if he said how he was going to increase participation in such a plan unless he has an individual mandate planned for this too, now that the precedent exists.  Chances are there are political donors behind this, and their funds will ultimately be the only ones offered as "safe" under the plan.

They are trying really hard but it's obvious they are finished carrying water. MSNBC and CNN also offered faint praise. I think everyone is suffering from BS fatigue.
