Their criteria is a bit suspect.  I find it odd Altus is supposedly a better place to live than Tulsa.  NFW!

Or Midwest City even...although admittedly I haven't been to MWC since the mid nineties.

Altus is dyslexic Tulsa, and you know what Tulsa spelled backwards is.

Criteria was basically closeness to retail chains, high rent, student teacher ratio, low taxes, crime, , commute time and weather.  Norman beat Edmond due to better weather.  pancakes?

Tulsa was 16.  Crime and unemployment numbers.

BA was 17.

OKC was 31st. Crime. And Amenities being bad scores.  Weak scores all around.

Sand Springs, Claremore, McAlester and Okmulgee founding out the bottom of the list.

Interesting. Good try. But meh...

You haven't missed a thing.  I have spent enough time in Norman, Moore, Midwest City, Valley Brook (yeah, I know - not on the list, but hey, ya gotta mention the town that has the largest sign on a strip joint in the state!  And the spring "random gunfire" season should be opening up in the next few weeks!) to almost be considered living there, and that is a king-dog crock-a-crap list.

I can always find some interesting stuff to do in either one (my "entertainment" and amusement needs are relatively simple) but neither Norman nor Moore are any better than Tulsa, BA, or even Jenks for that matter.

And Woodward??  Or Duncan??  Give me an ever-loving break....they aren't bad towns at all - some of my kids lived in both of those places - but not above the previously mentioned NE OK towns!

This is some kind of joke, right?  I think the wind in the area ought to reduce the rankings a lot....

There is one thing I have noticed about Moore/OKC south - when driving up Shields from I-35 up to about 82nd street, there is a large concentration of dealers for mobile homes.  The Tulsa dealers could take a lesson from these people....for several years they have sold their product by the pound...the prices I have seen seem to range from about $1.45 /lb to a max of about $1.85 /lb for the mobiles they are selling!  It seems to be more affordable that way, and I think it may help them with "sticker shock" rather than selling for $35 or 40 a square foot!!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.
