Beryl Ford once told me that he used to fly his plane low over the Admiral Twin to buzz his friends watching movies below him. He was a earthy, funny man you'd never expect had such a huge collection.

What was the name of the theater at 71st & Quincy.  I vaguely remember it being there.

This is intresting.  I grew up in Michigan and we had many drive-in theaters when I was a tot, seems we even had a Bel-Aire too, there was a big theater on Gratiot Ave and one on 8-mile road, The only one that I know is still around today is the Ford drive-in over in Dearborn, MI.... I believe there was even a 4-plex drive-in some where in the Detroit area at one time... As far as I know most drive-in's  in the Detroit area are gone.

Well actually when someone says "Detroit" they really mean the suburbs. The Detroit suburbs are not bad that's where the city functions now. The city of Detroit proper is dead and dangerous not a good or safe place to even drive thru. The suburbs are thriving today the home values are even starting to creep up.

So after looking for old drive in theaters, I thought I would put together a list from the 1967 photos and Google maps of now.

I always wondered why that salvage yard had such a long driveway
