You are arguing with your old lady outside a concert, and some guy dressed for a Garth Brooks concert starts running up to you with a gun in his hand.  What would you do?

Man dies after officer-involved shooting near Garth Brooks concert

TULSA – An off-duty VA security guard from Oklahoma City was on his way to the Garth Brooks concert when he shot and killed a man around 5:30 Friday night.

The plainclothes officer was about to attend the concert with his family when he saw an altercation.

The officer, 33, who hasn't been identified, said he saw a man push a woman to the ground.

The officer confronted the man. He said he saw a gun in the man's waistband and when the man began walking toward the officer, the officer said the man reached for the gun. That's when the officer drew his gun and fired six shots.

The male, 23, who was not identified, was taken to St. Francis Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m.

This will be the fifth homicide in Tulsa for 2015.

It's  not homicide. It's  an officer involved shooting.

May you live in interesting times.

It's still homicide, it's just not a crime.

So, a man is shot near the BOk Center, and he is transported close to 15 miles across town to a hospital where he dies. Why not OSU Medical, Hillcrest, or St. Johns?

Because dead men tell no tales.   (And it was an officer involved shooting.)

He should have just let him kill her......

A man in street clothes shoots someone six times near a crowded concert?
People elsewhere would be demanding an independent investigation, but we dont bat an eye.

Jason Chandler, who worked in the same building as Rodney Walker, said he couldn't picture his friend either pointing a weapon at the officer or intending to harm the woman. Rodney Walker wore oversized pants and would constantly pull them up while the pair worked their respective service jobs in the Williams building downtown, which may have been misconstrued as reaching for his weapon, Chandler said.

Dave Walker said Saturday night that the gun Andrew Bryiant used in the shooting was not his service weapon and that the gun recovered from Rodney Walker was not listed as stolen. Detectives are still working to trace the ownership history of each firearm, he said.

We parked in the garage to the east for $8, and none of us got shot. We had decided earlier in the evening, not to beat up any women or try to shoot anyone. A little planning can lead to a good experience.  There were lots of drunk people there though.  We left before the encore to avoid the bumper-cars.
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

"near"? He was like half a mile away.

Sorry, I forgot that most Oklahomans consider parking in front of the door "near" and anything over 50 feet away might as well be on another planet.

It doesn't have to be 50 feet.  You just need to be able to see the front door of the Walmart over the 100's of feet of asphalt.

That's why there is little landscaping, lots of artifical light and room to park the Winnebago and not lose sight of the entrance. That's also why they all look alike as well, so people don't get lost when they travel. :D
