Hello.... Anyone Home? Critique

I started reading Tulsa Now's Forum several years ago. I always thought, from what I had read, that their Organization was on the cutting edge of letting the Community know items that would promote their "Vision-Mission-etc."...  More and more I am finding that their are major gaps between where they say they are going and where they are.......

I am not trying to make the Tulsa Now Organization out to be a "dead end gang".. however, I would like to site some examples of just what I am referring to and see what can possibly be suggested to remedy the cause....

At the outset of this I would like to say that I am a member of the Tulsa Now Organization and I have attended the Forums and one recent Board Meeting... I have Great respect for the individuals that are on the Board of Directors of Tulsa Now.... The comments I am making are just what I would say to them if I were standing toe to toe with them... No more No less.....

1. Newsletter... Few and far between these days....

2. Meetings.... Annual or the occasional Forum....

3. Board Members.... Majority less active than others...That is to say some of them make their presence known to the Forum more than others... Some in the Past have been more aggresive in keeping the Forum and potential members more informed than others.. Many,their names would mean nothing to 95.9% of the Forum.... Others try to carry the whole sack of responsibilities.. An admirable but unachievable goal...  

4. Placing in Action Their list of Goals for 2005....??
(for a quick reference to the Goals etc. for 2005 go to the news and resources page and click on "2004. A Turning Point?") For an itemized list of the Goals and Objectives read the following http://www.tulsanow.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1359

"You be the Judge... Have they accomplished or made the Forum aware that they are working on any of these other than the Land Use Forum......?"

What would have prompted this uncharacteristic post by a seeming mild mannered individual such as myself....you may be asking?[]

Well more and more I am finding that the items posted on this Forum are doing more to develop a circular logic than to actually find solutions to the problems... Finally, and I know you are glad this is about finito..., what is Tulsa Now??? Can anyone point to something other than this Forum and say "That is Tulsa Now..." A meeting place, some action that they take on a regular basis that promotes their Goal..Mission..etc.,The names of the Board of Directors..., a column in a Local publication..?

What sparked this Topic was an item on the net that I came across, it is from the "Free Section of The Tulsa World".. So, at risk of landing in "Big Mac", I am going to
invite all of you to read these two items and find that one of the Board of Directors of Tulsa Now had a recent Forum concerning "Substandard Housing in Tulsa" and neighborhood solutions... Was anyone aware of this Forum???
It would seem, by my take on the article to have a direct impact on Land Use and Zoning Code Changes...
