The ballot printed in today's paper seems to be very short of instructions for the reason of the recall vote being taken.   It does allow the voter to insert his own mental purpose of the recall.   After shall councilor .......... be recalled the voter visually can finish with their analysis the reason such as; don't like how he combs his hair; his eyes look sneaky; he don't wear a tie; he goes to the little boys room and listens to the proceedings over the speakers when they are talking about him and etc.

One would assume the proper title on the ballot should complete the gist of the purpose of the recall.   Would it be more proper to head the ballot title with: Shall the councilor of district ..... be recalled so the councilor's can appoint a replacement that is more friendly to developing our suburbs?

Or it could read: Shall the councilor of district......be recalled because of his challenging the control of the status quo so thus the remaining councilor's can appoint a friendly councilor.

How about: Dump your councilor in district...... that you didn't have time to vote for or against in the last council election.

The ballot title should in 150 words or less in language understandable to those not in the practice of law, explaining what the purpose of the ballot is in the end results.

Of course the time has long expired to protest the ballot title.   How many voters are aware of the results in the changing of the council?   Do the voters think that the charter change will be implemented on recalls?  If the status quo pull this off will they want to change the charter provisions on recalls?
