I received a message on FB saying that Bob Rice died unexpectedly. That is all I know.

Can we retire a Jersey in his name?

I'm really saddened to hear this.  Godspeed Dolfan.

He was one of the more reasonable voices here.  May God appreciate his company as much as we did.

Very sorry to read of Bob's untimely passing.
I attended high school with Bob (Union '79).  We had a few classes together.  We were not extremely close, but we did attend some radio events, etc. after hours.  He was a good guy.  Great sense of humor.  Some of the best one-liners I've ever heard.  Many cannot be repeated here, but they have stayed with me all these years.  Bob loved music.  He was always talking about bands and new LPs.  He turned me on to some bands that I many not have ever considered.  I've always been grateful for that.
I moved away from Tulsa many years ago.  Feeling homesick I stumbled upon this website.  After reading several posts I was able to determine his true identity.  I contacted Bob via email and enjoyed some great conversation/memories.  Very sad now.
Peace and comfort to Bob's family.
I will miss reading his comments on this board.
RIP, old friend.

P.S. -- Longtime reader, first post.  To any of Bob's friends or old Union folk, feel free to email:  rhopkins@occc.edu

I believe he was a DJ previously.  Anyone know which station(s) and what his on air name was?

I'm sorry I didn't get to know him. Sounds like he was well respected and loved. Great epitaph.

Wow....

Condolences to his family, Ed, if you are in touch with them!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

My condolences to Bob's loved ones!
