National pride, distaste of being under outside dictates, tired of status quo.  I think I would have voted to leave, against better judgement.  We'll see.  Vacation time for going to Northern Ireland & Scotland.
I ran from OK about 50-yrs. ago & in 2010 I saw downtown's potential.

Tulsa's in a Phoenix rise, reason enough to stick around.

Besides... you can't fully be an Okie except in Oklahoma.

A strong Europe is great for the USA. This is uncertainty and certainly better for Russia and China than Europe or the USA, at least in the short term. The markets will react, currencies will crash, but there is no telling in the long term.

Based on what I have read, it appears to pretty much be a vote for nationalism. Not really any good reasons to leave, most of the regulations will still apply if they want to trade in Europe (which they have to), their current "dues" to the EU will simply be replaced by "access fees" and economists seem to think it will be a wash, and treaties outside the EU also govern the free flow of people - so as I understand it they don't get to shut their borders.

It might give them a chance to devalue their currency, which will be good for large industrial conglomerates, but bad for most people. If the financial sector lives up to their doom and gloom and abandons London (likely for one of the low countries where everyone speaks English anyway), that's going to really hurt. Also, Scotland voted nearly 70% to stay in the EU. Northern Ireland nearly 60%. Could be some issues holding the UK together in the not-to-distant future if things get shaky.  Really, England is a more populated but slightly poorer California (with more history, but without the whether or movie stars). Overnight, France passed England on the list of wealthiest nations. Weird world.

It's also great news for right wing nationalists across Europe. Historically, what's good for them is bad for everyone else in the world.

We shall see. It will take a couple of years to wind down 59 years of economic partnership. I hope it works out well, we need strong allies and strong trading partners.

Seems like they are fed up at a grass roots level to the point where they are willing to make self-emolation a national policy.

Much like we are doing here with Trump!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.
