Question for those in the know, when will this pedestrian bridge reopen?

It's been closed since construction on the bridge replacement over the arkansas river started, guess five years. Been told by different departments in the city that it will open whatever the next season was when asked for a little over two years now.

We miss easy walking access to riverparks!
Thank you,

And I miss easy walking/biking access to Crosbie Heights/Newblock/Irving/Owen Park.

There is no reason for this bridge to still be closed now that the trail work is all done.

I could have sworn this had been discussed on here before and now I do not remember what the conversation was on here.

Checking the TBC website, INCOG, and RPA for trail conditions, none of them mention this closure.  I sent a text to Tonja Carrigg at RPA and will post back what I find out.

There is a lot of activity around the rails from there all the way to Southwest Boulevard around Crystal City. It appears as if they may be widening the ROW or improving it for some reason. Perhaps that is the hold up.

RPA is hoping to have the bridge open in around 30 days.

Awesome, while I won't hold my breath I hope it's true.  Thanks for looking into it!

Apparently, it's in ODOT's hands.  I believe they are also finishing out some other work on the pedestrian connectors at the north end of River Parks.

As many agencies that were involved I am not surprised by the delays, without direct connections it was basically a game of phone tag and check back laters.

I heard that this was open today.  Finally!

I rode over to check it out recently, and they have made significant improvements to the route approaching the bridge.  It's no longer a series of ridiculously steep/tight switchbacks.  Can't wait to ride north again!

Not open yet, still boarded up, but the cement barricades are gone. Getting closer.

This section being lifted into place today.  I had no idea it had been removed.
