Don't get your hopes up, this from his former biographer. I think this guy even underestimates the huge size of Il Donald's Herr Drumpf's ego.

QuoteWashington (AFP) - The ghostwriter who penned Donald Trump's 1987 memoir "The Art of the Deal" thinks the US president will throw in the towel before the end of his term.

Writer Tony Schwartz tweeted that "Trump is going to resign" before investigators probing alleged ties between the Republican's campaign team and Russia "leave him no choice."

"The circle is closing at blinding speed," the author tweeted. "Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice."

"Trump's presidency is effectively over," he said in a follow-up tweet. "Would be amazed if he survives till end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner."

While writing Trump's bestselling breakthrough memoir Schwartz spent 18 months with the billionaire tycoon.

He spoke out last year against the real estate mogul during the presidential campaign, telling The New Yorker magazine that he put "lipstick on a pig."

"I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is."

Oh, I'm not.  However it seems that Bannon is now out.  Which is not a surprise.

NYT: Mueller subpoenas Bannon

http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/16/politics/robert-mueller-steve-bannon/index.html

QuoteWashington (CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon last week, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Bannon was on Capitol Hill testifying before the House Intelligence Committee when the news broke that Mueller had issued the subpoena for the now-estranged associate of President Donald Trump to testify before a grand jury.
Bannon's testimony on the Hill Tuesday was his first appearance before any of the congressional committees investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election or potential coordination with Trump's associates, and it comes just days after the White House broke with Bannon over comments attributed to him disparaging Trump and the Trump family.

And then Pence will issue pardons all around.  Mueller will need to investigate Pence next - he is only relatively not as bad as Trump just due to the magnitude of Trump.

Bannon will do interview with special counsel, avoiding grand jury for now

http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/17/politics/bannon-mueller-strike-deal/index.html

QuoteWashington (CNN)Steve Bannon has struck a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller's team and will be interviewed by prosecutors instead of testifying before the grand jury, two people familiar with the process told CNN. He is expected to cooperate with the special counsel, the sources said.

The sources did not say when the interview will take place or if the subpoena would be withdrawn.

Bannon, the former White House chief strategist for President Donald Trump, is expected to talk openly to Mueller's team. Bannon's attorney told the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday that Bannon would answer questions when he goes to the special counsel because executive privilege would not apply, according to one of the sources.

A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Last week, the FBI attempted to serve Bannon with a subpoena to appear before the grand jury in the Russia probe. He referred agents to his attorney, multiple sources said.

Bannon's deal with the special counsel follows the publishing of Michael Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," which claimed Bannon called the June 2016 meeting between senior Trump presidential campaign staff and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton "treasonous."

In testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, Bannon downplayed the comments published in Wolff's book, saying it was "hyperbole" that he described the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Trump campaign with Russians as treasonous and unpatriotic, two sources said. Bannon, who joined the campaign after the June 2016 meeting, and shed little light on the meeting with Russians, the sources said.

One reason Mueller may have issued a subpoena is that Bannon publicly changed his story when he issued a statement on the book's contents, walking back some of what was reported, a source told CNN.

The source familiar with the process with Bannon said Mueller's team may have been seeking to send a message that he needs to be truthful about what happened.

California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told CNN that the White House instructed Bannon not to answer questions regarding the presidential transition and his time in the White House. Schiff said a White House attorney other than White House counsel Don McGahn reconfirmed this should continue after the committee served Bannon with a subpoena during the interview yesterday. McGahn and Bannon share the same attorney, William Burck.

The House Intelligence Committee is not done questioning Bannon, as the panel will require him to answer their questions and their own subpoena of him stands, Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, said after Tuesday's hearing.

Give him a good deal - he skates with probation if he turns over all his tapes of Trump conversations he has had....

According to one paid-off lackey.  We will see.  I have no real expectation (well, except from the history of dozens of indictments, and 8 or 9 convictions...) that much will come from this.  After all, Mueller is still a Republican at the end of the day.

Bahahahahahaha!!
I just had to return after 2 years + away from this forum to see the reactions..

Mueller is a Republican and can't be trusted... Predictable...

Convictions due to this investigation.. Not one was about Collusion.. Predictable..

Not one of you that has been spouting hate for two years will admit you were wrong. You would have loved to have an investigation conclude with a traitor in the White house than to be happy there isn't!

Egg on face for all of you and yes I am happy to see it.

But but.... He "could have obstructed".. play that line and watch it fail.

I'll return in 2 more years once Trump wins the next election.. You and the MSM just handed it to him.

Well, since collusion isn't even a crime, that certainly doesn't take much mental horsepower to figure out.  Wonder why the extremist right is still showing they don't understand even that simple concept?  It's all about the mantra "no collusion"...  Well, that IS the standard self-serving lie, isn't it - right on Script!

Watch the heavy  use of the word "exonerate".  When even Barr's literal statement said, "does not exonerate".   Or did you miss that??   (I bet you even believed Sarah Huckabee when she said "exonerate", didn't you?)

Also, this really isn't over yet - there is very likely to be more, especially from other areas that aren't compromised by paid-off lackeys.  Watch the New York Atty General.

And finally, there is nothing here or in the last two years that takes away from the facts that ethical, moral, thinking people paid attention to while the Minions were in bat-sh$t stupid mode.  Things that would disqualify him to normal people.  Trump the pedophile.  Trump the draft-dodger.  Trump the guy who called our POW's cowards.  Trump the Federal housing law serial breaker.  Trump the cheat who stole from every contractor he has ever done business with.  Trump the guy who has hired thousands of illegal immigrants - breaking another set of Federal laws.  But yeah...he may well be re-elected.  Because THAT is what we are as a country!   What is needed is a hat that says, "Make America Great...Period."  It would be a refreshing change of pace!

With Trump supporters, it has always been a "willfully ignorant" thing.  Now, it has morphed into a "malignantly ignorant" thing...
