                                  The Chickasaw Tribe estimates that the museum and resort alone will attract 500,000 annual visitors.

                                  The FAM museum's final construction costs topped out at $171 million.

The year started with about 3,250 apartment units being built in more than 20 different complexes, nearly 70% more than the normal average, according to Capstone Companies, a multifamily property brokerage firm.

Since then, 1,000-plus additional units were announced for a total of about 4,400 apartments coming to the Oklahoma City metro area.  

About 2,100 of the planned apartments were financed with low-income housing tax credits and fit the affordable housing description. They are all part of a more-than-usual amount of affordable apartment construction, said David Dirkschneider, managing director for Capstone Compainies in Oklahoma City.

"This is a good thing because it's evident that there is a shortage of affordable housing anywhere in the country."

Fairground Flats, a 216-unit affordable senior apartment complex announced last week by Indianapolis developer TWG at 2820 General Pershing Bouevard, just east of the OKC Fairgrounds complex.

Fairground Flats is "much needed," said Holley Mangham, communications manager for the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency, which contributed $33.6 million in tax-exempt bonds and $2.4 million in housing tax credits toward its development

Dirkschneider said some economists see Oklahoma City as becoming more affordable for renters because household incomes are increasing faster than rental rates and they expect rent increases to come off of recent spikes and slow.

The surge in affordable construction is probably due to a tweak to the federal tax credit application used by developers for 2023, said Darrell Beavers, housing development director for the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency, which administers federal and state housing tax credit programs.

    Rother's feast day was celebrated throughout the Oklahoma City Province, which includes the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the Diocese of Tulsa
    and the Diocese of Little Rock. The Diocese of Sololá in Guatemala also received permission to celebrate the feast day. Eventually, other dioceses
    in the United States and elsewhere may celebrate the day.

                    Dream Hotel and Apartment Towers proposed

                        Oklahoma City Council may soon be asked to approve a new $215 million submitted by the OCURA  to create a new TIF district
                        that would generate a budgeted $215 million in public assistance.

                        Developer Randy Hogan said Monday the proposed development south of Reno Avenue and east of the BNSF Railway tracks has
                        expanded from three to four towers, each between 24 and 26 stories, previously, the buildings were 19 and 22 levels with two
                        side by side Dream Hotels.

                        The 315-room Dream Hotel adds 100 more rooms to the envisioned 215-rooms proposed back in June 2021.   The agreement with
                        the Omni Hotels and Oklahoma City,  stipulates no TIF money will go toward the hotel; it can be used for the three planned 24-26
                        story apartment towers of which construction would being on two apartment towers in 2024.

                       If the TIF is approved, construction of two of the three apartment towers would start by early 2024 according to Hogan.

There are currently 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S., and Oklahoma City is going to be number 51. It's the widest consular network in another country by one single country. Nobody has 52 consulates in another country; Mexico does, however, because we have a very large population of Mexican origin here in the U.S. and also because our economic, social and political relationships with the U.S. are very relevant to Mexico and the U.S. . .

Our consulate has nothing to do with immigration, so what we basically do within documentation is we issue around 30 different documents all related to Mexico and with Mexico, such as passports, Consular I.D. cards, voting cards, powers of attorney, and death certificates; as well as visas for American citizens who want to live in Mexico, and many others.
