Rother Shrine dedication moved to early 2023'

Archbishop Coakley announced this week that the mass and dedication originally scheduled for November 4, 2022 has been moved to
    Friday, February 17, 2023.

Oklahoma City Archdioceses wanted to ensure all non-construction items are ready, and necessary staff members are in place
for the shrine to open immediately following the dedication.

The $50 million Shine is under construction in south Oklahoma City.

Interesting. There's one similar in Tucson. It's 226 year older but shares quite a lot.

It does look very similar to the Rother Shrine Church under construction in south
Oklahoma City.

Amazing architecture, very similar to Tulsa's Holy Family Cathedral
and OKC's Little Flower Catholic Church

Beautiful picks, Thanks for sharing . . .

About Scissortail Park
Scissortail Park is in the heart of a revitalized downtown Oklahoma City. The public green space provides a healthy and vibrant quality of life for our city while serving as an investment in the future for everyone. Every detail of the Park is designed for connection – with nature, neighbors, and ourselves. It is a place for play, culture, celebration, and inspiration.

The 36-acre upper park opened in September 2019 and features a variety of engaging experiences ranging from ornamental gardens and woodlands to a lake and boathouse. The Park offers visitors walking and biking paths, a children's playground, a grand promenade, a performance stage and great lawn, a seasonal outdoor roller rink, an enclosed dog park, interactive fountains, and much more.

Designed by one of the foremost landscape architecture planning firms in the world, Hargreaves Jones Associates, the Park is also a horticultural tapestry of native prairie grasses, lush flower gardens, and tree-lined walkways.

Connected across Interstate 40 by the Skydance Bridge, the 32-acre lower park broke ground on November 6, 2020, and will open September 23, 2022. This section is intended to have more open and natural spaces than the existing park areas. There will be a focus on space for athletic events and pickup sports, with a soccer field, sports pavilion, pickleball courts, futsal court, and two basketball courts. The lower park is being constructed by Wynn Construction.

Scissortail Park is managed on behalf of the City of Oklahoma City by Scissortail Park Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

The Citizen

The Citizen is a mid-rise development in downtown Oklahoma City, that from its inception set out to be a venue to promote civic discourse. Situated on a sensitive site overlooking the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the form of the building is lifted to create a landscaped undercroft, inviting a dialogue with the open space opposite, and enlivening the streetscape with restaurant and banking hall uses at ground floor. Rising up, the Citizen houses a diverse mix of uses, from co-working space, through members club and hotel, to office suites in the upper stories.

The elevations were inspired by neighbouring 1930s architecture, and the detailing is an abstraction of their characteristic paired window arrangements and strong vertical emphasis. The generous openings are designed with flexibility in mind, accommodating the disparate functions envisaged now, but also with the ability to flex to different uses in the future. The party wall elevation, appearing above an existing parking garage, adopts a more playful composition, with its freer functional expression of the core exhibiting the vertical movement of people within. With its well-mannered exterior, and its offering of mixed public and private functions, the building itself is conceived as a citizen of the city.
