There was a discussion on another topic about what was and was not a "campaign issue". I know that anything that happens during an election cycle can become a campaign topic by simply being covered by the media or spoken about by a candidate.

But I want to know what we individually think should be the campaign topics this next two months.

Give them some priority as well. Talk about a few that mean the most to you and rank them.

Should crime be number one because of the recent home invasions and robberies? Should the third penny sales tax proposal be tops because it is over $400 million and comprises a third of our local sales tax burden? How about the arena and the other vision projects and their related budgets and time frames?

Do you think the proposal to change the form of government to non-partisan and at-large districts should be the thing you want the candidates to discuss first? How about the downtown housing subsidies or the east village/soccer stadium? Is the development of the river the topic you want to ask each of them?

Are their environmental concerns about chicken poop, waste-to-energy or recycling? Does regionalism efforts and or growth of the suburbs rank high with you? How about neighborhood protections or preservation of downtown buildings?

What do you think?
Power is nothing till you use it.
