Arena Politics and the Mayor

I've got a few questions;

How is the Arena going to weigh in on Mayoral politics this election cycle?  Anyone have any valid concerns that could be used politically?  Is there any reason why LaFortune shouldn't take credit for the Arena and Vision 2025?  Should the Arena project be "shut down" as some have suggested?  Any other thoughts?
