The latest ratings report is out. KFAQ remained in 14th place in the Tulsa market, but its ratings dropped again, from 3.6 to 3.4.

KRMG saw a drop, too, from 7.5 to 6.4. It makes me wonder whether listeners nationwide are getting tired of right-wing radio, and the dropping ratings to Tulsa's two talk stations are reflecting that.

Well they aren't listening to Air America either so I'm betting it is a general displeasure with talk radio.

Of course, satellite radio might have something to do with it too.

Tulsa radio stations had no balls when it came to airing Air America....

I occasionally tune into those fakes and hypocrites from the right just to hear what the "feed" and "line" are from the lost power side. It seems to be getting more contrite by the day. While my intake can handle about 10 minutes of this trash at a time, usually once or twice a month, it's always laughable to have a run in with stupidity on the streets or these forums regarding the state of our spiritless nation generated by Rush and Hannity and company. And these very hard core instigators of all this political change since Lewinsky seem to have been the ones who sucked the spirit right out of our soul. A "see" change is occurring.

BTW, the corporate press will not dicuss the Presidunces character problem and personality disorder.....

Was that the summer book? If it was the fall book, wonder if OU's slow start deterred listenership.

Hey! David Arnett takes another blast at MDG!

Brother David quotes scripture?!Defender of the Faith!  Sheesh.  Remind me to not criticize downtown.

Hmm. I thought the message was, "Don't be a hyporite." Thats just me though.

Nahhh.  I was way out on front of David on that one, excoriating KFAQ and MDG without pause, heaping indignation on that operation for every little misstep since they debuted.

Blashpheming G-d's name as an obscene utterance was not enough for Paladin Arnett.  Lying about the number of attendees at their 'rallies' did not do it.  'Christys Toybox' commercials were just jiffy.  It was not until the casino gave ammo to our Crusader that he felt safe to come out full bore agin MDG.

Hypocrite?  That may apply to someone who opposed things like taxes for arenas, but then later gets a job with just such an outfit (Just KIDDING, David!)

AOX:  Do you honestly believe there is an audience for Air America in Tulsa? There is not even an audience for that station in NYC.

I missed (okay I avoided) the KFAQ morning show this a.m. Any response by his holiness to the recent Arnett article?

*shrug*

I don't believe there's a market in Tulsa for Air America either.  I doubt I'd listen to it.  I just don't care what their POV is, any more than I care about the POV of KFAQ.

Air America will constantly be way behind right wing radio IMO.  It's not a (pound for pound) "popularity contest".  If their competing for the same listeners as right wing radio, how much of those folks actually want to come over?  If their trying to create new talk radio listeners, how do you convince people who don't listen now, to start listening?  It may eventually fly in larger markets, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it working here.

Yes, there is not much of a market for Air America here in Tulsa. But I recall the daze when KAKC would play a radio tune outlawed throughout the south because they were owned by Carl Mark who had balls.

For years, many of us "libtards" listened to right wing extremist bcasting just to hear their bs.....it's all entertainment much like Colbert and Stewie who probably have lots of viewers from here.

Who listens to talk radio more than 15 minutes a week anymore anyway? A waste of time.

AIR AMERICA SAVED!

"Air America Radio, in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings since October, will be rescued at the 11th hour by Manhattan real estate developer Stephen L. Green. Al Franken, the best-known host of the liberal network, will announce his expected departure on his show later today, to explore a run for the U.S. Senate from Minnesota."

The fact that MDG rambled on about leaving Tulsa because it is unsafe for months and months, only to find out that he was not paying his mortgage payment for at least an extended period makes me wonder aloud about the real reason he moved. Was it unsafe? Or was it because he was getting ready to get foreclosed on?

He brings all this on himself, by the way he acts as such a holier than thou for 3+ hours a day.

I love talk radio.  I listen to Howard Stern about two hours a day, the Imus ('Eyepuss'!) daily update. NPR.  Love it all. Listened to a wee bit Air America, was OK radio.

Did not listen this AM but one may podcast the show, I suppose.  There was a rumor going around a couple months ago that he was leaving for good in 2007.

Wonder if 'Tulsa Toady' was tipped off or just lurks around real creepy-like looking for dirt?

The latter.

Interesting that he and his sad, syncophantic cohorts were deriding the state last week because Oklahoma has the 19th highest foreclosure rate in the country, but MDG failed to tell his listeners that he contributed to the statistic.

My guess:  just as he has warned his listeners that gambling ruins a family's finances, so too has it ruined his.
