All of those pics are so nice. William, the second of the two pics you were undecided on is the prettiest.[}:)]

Here's one I took a few weeks ago. I'm trying to do more night photography.

Jammie

I just really want to thank all of you who posted pics on here. This morning my husband was telling a friend of his that we should all get together and go visit Branson, Mo. While I'd love to go there, I told him I already have our next trip planned. I came to the computer and put Artist's flicker show on and said that's where we're going.[:D] He had no idea he was looking at pictures of Tulsa and thought I was referring to a European country all the while wondering how he'd get me on a plane that would cross the ocean.[:O] He was in total shock to know that Tulsa had such beautiful architecture and he's ready to visit Tulsa now.[:P] Where's my suitcase?[}:)]

All of the photos are spectacular. Artist, you live up to your billing; you should be a professional photographer as well, and I am being sincere. Jammie, I hope you and your husband have a wonderful trip to Tulsa. I'm sure it will be memorable. I only wish that I could visit there more often. Perhaps in the Fall when the leaves are changing. Take care all.

Jammie

Hi Tulsa Fan, I've wondered where you've been. It's probably been the same for you as for us~summer is always busy and fun.[}:)]

I just know we'll love it down there. Finally after waiting for several years to see Tulsa, the time is near. Only four more weeks to go!!![:P]

Thanks for the input everyone.  LOVE the Boston Avenue shots mini. I am jealous.  I have yet to capture any pics with the classic, dark cloudy sky with the sun hitting the foreground, shot.  Good catch[:D].  Just an idea, ya might try contrasting the forground a bit to bring out the shadows and architecture of the church, and also shifting the gold tones just a tad to the rose color to flow towards the tones in the clouds. Dont know if your a "purist" or a photoshop nut like myself lol.

Mspivey, good work on the night shots. I am finding those hard to do with my old camera. Cant wait to get a new one to give it a try.

One thing I noticed last time I was in downtown. The trees and lights are gone in some areas so we are now able to get some shots of buildings that havent been able to be taken in years. Especially a potential shot of the Philtower from top to bottom, from the side street going to the Bartlett fountain, dont remember the name of the street lol.   Get em while they last. [:D]

I've been traveling on business alot over the last couple of months Jammie. Unfortunately, my travels haven't taken me to Tulsa; mostly Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and Albuquerque (Albuquerque is beautiful, btw). Make sure and post your pics of Tulsa when you get back home; I'd love to see them!

Here is a cool site if you enjoy photos of Tulsa...

This fellow seems to know a lot about Tulsa..Art Deco - etc.

Rico, I like this site and I'll have to put it under my faves until I get a chance to spend more time looking at the pics. One of the things I really like is the fact that he even lists the addy of the buildings. It's so helpful for out of towners.[}:)]

Went to Philbrook today.  The weather was perfect and the fall lighting, sublime.  Took about 80 photos.  But for some reason this one, though its very simple, just hit me as being quite beautiful.  Even if this is the only photo that turned out.  I think the day was worth it.[:)]

Looks like something you would see in a costly book. Great job. The lighting gives it a kind of ancient look. I'd love to see the other photos.

mspivey

Very nice. What are the photography rules at the Philbrook. I would have thought they weould be fery strict.

TheArtist

Philbrook is surprisingly lenient.  No flash, no tripod, no taking professional wedding photos etc without paying a fee. Otherwise, have at it.

The toughest spots I havent cracked yet in Tulsa are the interior lobby of the National Bank building and the Federal Building, wont even let you take pics of the outside of that. The guards are getting good at seeing me and my little camera coming.[:P]

But mspivey, if you want to go on a photo expedition with me, I have a plan.  You move the advertising signage out of the way in the bank lobby and when the guard comes to stop you, have a seizure and start flopping around on the floor or something, preferably out of shot.  Then with the guards duly distracted I will snap the photos.  Sound like a plan?
