Buddy Fallis Endorses Brett Swab for District Attorney
Former DA says Swab has the Experience and Enthusiasm to do the job

Buddy Fallis, former Tulsa County District Attorney, endorsed Brett Swab this afternoon with the following statement:

"With 20 years behind me as a prosecutor. 14 of those as Tulsa's District Attorney, I feel I must speak publicly about the upcoming election. My heart will forever be tied to the office I held and I cannot stay silent about my dismay over the course chosen by the current D.A."

"Cooperation among the various branches of law enforcement within the criminal justice system is the hallmark of effective crime-management within a city, county or state. Sadly, I have observed an ever-increasing disconnect between this District Attorney's office and our other crime-fighters. I know from personal experience that no D.A. can do this work alone. He must have the eyes, the ears, the hearts and minds of police officers and deputies in the field-those "first-responders" to crime."

"I am further disturbed by the current D.A.'s "new standard" for filing cases. "Reasonable doubt" is entirely within the province of juries. Law enforcement has historically acted on "probable cause," a necessary distinction. Moreover, if this has been instituted merely to decrease the case load, it is doubly lamentable. Prosecutors have always worked with limited resources, but that cannot deter the excellent ones from having the courage to do the right thing. Without a cooperative working relationship communication ends, distrust grows, enthusiasm is depressed and the only winner is the criminal."

"Because my heart is still with the office I served for a large part of my life, I have decided to speak out and endorse Brett Swab for the Tulsa County District Attorney's position. I know that his experience as a prosecutor along with his enthusiasm and desire to build strong relationships and effective communications will serve him well in guarding the citizens of Tulsa County. I encourage Tulsa County voters to elect Brett Swab on Tuesday, July 25th."

Swab, a Republican and local attorney, has pledged to restore communication with law enforcement, streamline office management and to aggressively prosecute all child predators and violent offenders. Swab has been endorsed by every Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Tulsa County.
