PSO Issues Appeal To Conserve Electricity
KOTV - 8/7/2006 11:51 AM - Updated: 8/7/2006 3:25 PM
PSO has issued an emergency appeal to its Tulsa area customers to conserve energy this afternoon.

High temperatures, increased use and mechanical problems at two Tulsa area generating plants have prompted the appeal.

If the need arises, PSO could begin rolling blackouts.

They are asking customers to set their thermostats to 80 degrees. Use fans to help reduce the need for air conditioning. Turn off necessary lights and use washers, dryers and ovens later in the day to avoid a strain on a home's air conditioning unit.
