Anyone done this to save money?  I've gotten quotes between $1,100-$2,000, and figured we're better off smashing those soffits (looking for wires and pipe lines first), and tearing out the cabs and flooring ourselves.  We're not moving walls, so it shouldn't be too difficult...except for the mess and dust[V]

I'd like to donate the cabinets and appliances (working, but old), and was told to list them on Craiglist.  Is that a good idea?
