Election-Day Liquor Store Opening Proposed Oklahoma City (AP) - A plan to allow liquor stores to be open on all election days is among four state questions that will be voted upon at the November 7th general election.

Proponents of State Question 733, which was referred to a statewide vote by the Oklahoma Legislature, say it is an attempt to update state liquor laws, among the strictest in the country.

Another proposal up for a vote, State Question 724, would force legislators arrested and locked up for misdemeanor violations to forfeit their pay if they are convicted or enter a plea of guilty or no contest.

The state questions are scheduled for an election during which voters also will pick a governor, other state officeholders and decide scores of legislative races and local contests.

When I look at who we've been electing, maybe some drinking before we vote wouldn't hurt.

Maybe it should be MANDATORY.

I think bars and liquor stores should be open 24 hours a day unless they would have a negative impact on the local residents.

Question 724 sounds good. I wonder by how much that will pass by. [}:)]

Moot point, I have the common sense to stock up the day before the election so I can get good and liquored up before stumbling into the polling place.
