Good riddance.  I tired of his use of the word "guff" instead of "gulf" years ago.

Ok-mug-gee.[:D] He doesn't look well. I hope his cancer has not returned. A nice guy.

Always seemed like a nice guy with a pleasant, kind, caring, personality.  Is a familiar face that will be missed.  I rank him right up there with Don Woods, remember the gusty cartoons he would draw? and Lee Woodward and one can not of course forget King Lionel.   Time moves on.

Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

I interned the summer of '83 at Channel 6 and I only have nice things to say about Jim Giles.
He was very nice & always had encouraging words to us dorky interns.
I loved Gusty & King Lionel! Isn't Gusty the official state cartoon? Would be fun to see some of those old segments again.

You're a nerd if you don't like Jim Giles.

I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with both Jim and his wife a couple of weeks ago. Half an hour isn't necessarily enough to make a thorough judgment, but he was just as nice and easygoing in person as he is on TV.

I used to go to school with Jim's Grand-daughter. I used to hear nothing but wonderful things about him. He sounds like a wonderful grand-dad. Honestly, I'm a little sad to see him go. He was one of the few people that could calm me down during a tornado warning when I was a kid. I think it was the kind face, and voice. Next tornado season I'm gonna be just as scared again!

I'll miss you Jim Giles! Thank you for everything!

My wife and I wondered about that.  We happened to tune into 6 the night he announced his retirement.  He's lost a lot of weight and his voice also sounded a little shaky.

Trams

I'm sure we'll all miss his colorful, Christmas sweaters also.
