I do wonder about Rove however, and I wonder if Bush is still going to run the office like a campaign.  I hope not.

It was pure optimism.  I really did believe that Bush wanted to do something with his last two years.  Something that would build a decent legacy.  Even LBJ, his legacy isn't all Vietnam.  Still, it's possible, it's just fading away fast.
