Are there any recent updates on V2025 projects?

I was just wondering if there are any updates on Vision 2025 projects.  The website vision2025.info says the site was last updated on 12/4/06, but I can't find a single thing different about the site since before 12/4/06.  Several projects have had the same information for months.  The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame link lists the construction bid opening date as October 30th.  Who made a bid? Is the HOF still going to open next spring?  The 61st St. link has said for over a month that the Tulsa County part of the project is 75% complete.  Has any more progress been made?  The arena link details the structural concrete work in the current work package to be 88% complete.  Again this has been listed for over a month.

Does anyone know anything about these projects?

The best source for arena info is the monthly reports which lag behind about a month.

Whenever the date changes that means they updated something, sometimes it's just hard to find. Vision2025 is just the banker for many of these projects, so they do not necessarilly have the updated information on all of them.

Sorry for the confusion, sometimes it is difficult to see what changes we make and unfortunately since we are so familiar with the projects we tend to make subtle changes rather than significant ones and that makes it difficult for others to tell just what has changed.  This is one of the reasons I monitor this board, to receive feed back and we are working on it.

This week we are assembling the November monthly report for for presentation to the County Commissioners followed by the Sales Tax Overview Committee.  We typically post our updates between these two presentaitons, so likely friday.

In the mean time:

As for 61st it is nearing completion however the winter weather greatly impacted the schedule for final completion of the asphalt wearing course...we will have a better handle on the overall completion shortly.

The majority of the Jazz Hall of Fame bids were awarded in November, however a portion will have to be re-advertised as no bids were received on the final packages due (we believe) to the bids being due at the height of the past winter storm.  Interior demolition work is beginning and overall project completion is expected in early summer.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the updates.  I noticed the V2025 web site has been updated much further as of yesterday.  Do you know or are you able to give any updates on NIMI's fundraising activities for the Native Amer. cultural center?

Quote from vision 2025 website about low water dams:

"The environmental field work and data collection activities have been completed for the first fall quarter sampling period.  It will take approximately 13 months to complete the required four seasons of sampling."

When did the 13 month sampling period begin?  And what else must occur before the dams can be designed and for construction to begin?

^From what I have heard there isnt even enough money for one low water dam to be built.  But still glad they are going ahead with the study process.  Hopefully there will be a vote on something for the river this year.

Has anyone computed the interest on the revenue bonds issued to proceed with the 2025 funding that is due daily?

Has anyone told their children and grandchildren how much they will have to pay in the future on these bonds when inflation is increasing in the 30% percent bracket and sales taxes are increasing in the less than 10% brackets overall?

It could be they will not be as enthusiastic about the development of the river of sand.

The bond sales have been committed before the promotion began to lead the people to the voting polls for the free money.  They are in detentions of $10,000 dollars or greater with a above interest rate.  Freedom of Information makes the facts available but the old "Runaround" is also available.

Who do you think pays for the advertisements for the promotions of these issues?
