What is the theme?

Suburbia?
High School Football?
Antiques? (Antigua)
Toll Bridges?
Power is nothing till you use it.

Six Flags is selling their Oklahoma City properties and closed it's property in Houston. It would be odd to build in the Tulsa area, but great for us.

Doesn't Bill Gates now own over ten per cent of Six Flags?

Dude...where did you get the artwork?  Source?  Anything?  Maybe it wouldn't be so mysterious if you'd share a link. [;)]

The Tulsa World has the graphic.

I enlarged it, The first word is "The", the secord word is "River", but the third word is unreadable.

It looks like a six letter word that starts with a "C" and ends with a "T".

These are the words I could think of that fit that description.

Cachet, Cannot, Carpet, Carrot, Casket, Catgut, Caught, Caveat, Cavort, Cement, Chalet, Christ, Claret, Client, Closet, Cobalt, Cogent, Cohort, Combat, Comfit, Commit, Copout, Cornet, Corset, Covert, Cravat, Credit, Cubist, Cullet, Cutest, Cutlet, Cutout, and Cygnet.

I like many of these...but I doubt they will call it "The River Casket" or "The River Combat".

Sangria

(Quote from the news story)"Mayor Vic Vreeland said city officials are working on several options to raise additional funds. Tulsa County Commissioner Randi Miller has said that additional funding for a low-water dam at 105th Street would likely be on a county ballot next year as part of a river development initiative that is expected to feature some type of river development in Tulsa through a public-private partnership"

Hmmmmm..... looks like she has not given up.

The sign says: "The River District" which is what they are calling the project for now.

A boardwalk or nauticle/cape cod themed lifestyle center?

Will be interesting to see just what they do. More retail/restaurants in that area will compete with the Riverwalk.  Not to mention they will have to compete with the new hwy 75 shopping center.

Not likely Bells unless they are partnering with him.  They wouldn't put all that money into it just so Robby could plop his rides there and run the place like he ran it at the fairgrounds.

If it is shopping, sad to see it will not have any living mixed in.

Oh, and whats with the sidewalks not going under the bridge?  And where are those people walking to and from in the renderings?  Those spurty jet fountains are completely unrealistic.  Good ol Oklahoma winds will blow the water away from the tiny pools they have them coming from and all over the sidewalks and grass.  Either the scale is off or those entrances are very rinky dink. You have to be careful about how things look in renderings and translate that to how its going to look in real life.

Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

No mystery. First reported Lynn Mitchell several weeks ago here by the axman. Mitchell might be able to make something happen but not Six Flags.
Look for TIF and a p.o.ed Jerry Gordon.

I was hoping for "Catgut" or "Cutout".

Business park?

re: lack of sidewalk at entrance:
And I've always wondered who's small idea it was to make those underpasses under the turnpike so narrow and tunnel-like...
