If you like living in the country, Grove/Grand Lake is worth a try.  To the north of Tulsa, Owasso has lots of development-- a little further north to Collinsville/Oologah is worth a look.

I'll take a pass on discussing Tulsa area  politics/religion this time around, tempting as it is... so you'll be welcome, as long as ya ain't one of those speculatin' Californ-y folks who's looking to flip condos/houses  after watching a few too many late night infomercials...

If I were picking a suburb I would most likely choose Jenks or Sand Springs.  They both have more character and interest than Owasso and BA. As for country, towards Skiatook Lake. Some idyll hills and valleys that direction. Sapulpa has a nice country feel to it as well.
"When you only have two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other."-Chinese proverb. "Arts a staple. Like bread or wine or a warm coat in winter. Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

That area north of Sand Springs near the Zink ranch is pretty nice. Rolling hills, pretty decent water, easy access to Tulsa, close to Skiatook Lake, improving property values, Rock Fire Department is good. There are also some nice areas south of Sapulpa in Creek County. Pretty hills, small and larger acreages, close to Tulsa.

If you are a gardener, most of the "hilly" areas don't have a lot of dirt. The soil is pretty thin. Along the rivers you will find some decent soil, and Bixby is considered the garden city of Oklahoma, although, even there, if you are in the hills there is more rock than dirt.

If you are considering goats or small farm cattle, or raising pigs or chickens, just about anywhere outside of Tulsa is good. Even the more rocky hills has decent graze most the time, and if you clear out the post oaks bermuda grass will take hold just about anywhere.

I do review appraising in and around Tulsa and Oklahoma City so if I can be of assistance, let me know, and welcome to Oklahoma.

Actually a lot of the Californians moving to the Midwest are not liberal. They are leaving because they are tired of the liberals in California. I'm not saying that is the case with Honeybee, but it is with many.
Another thing you have to realize is that 45% of Californians voted for Bush in the 2004 election. So yes, there are plenty of right-wingers in that state too.

good, they can all come live with you in Dumasso.

If you are moving from California, it means we have a chance you are a liberal (they don't call it the left coast for nothing).

On behalf of the minority in Oklahoma, let me just say...hurry and bring friends.

I am a support Bush and voted for him [:D]

Check this note out. After reading "borned, ourselfs and gotton" I believe this person is well suited for Tulsa. If hubby is the same level, CA will gain a couple of notches on the IQ scale.
