Was wondering if anybody has seen the Ikes Kitchens opening up in town and thought it was the same company as the original Ikes Chili. Ikes kitchens has locations at admiral and utica and 61st and garnett. They are NOT related. I talked to a waitress at the original location on Admiral and Sheridan and she said they are suing them in court. They are trying to fool people in thinking that they are the same. It will be interesting to see if they win.

Doubt if they can win even if they get a judge to hear it.

Even if they win, it has already created yet another 4 or more Yellow Page Nightmares as well.

We have a company with the same exact name publish in the Yellow pages in three of our classifications we publish in.  It was very confusing to our customers and the public.

Solution was easy as they allowed us to purchased that phone number from them for a fee. Biggest problem was people going to the physical address that stayed for over 12 months in the published listing.

They had an office in Texas and had opened a branch here.  Claimed they did it without first checking if the name had been taken.  Our group had the brand name registered for 28 years prior to their arrival here.

doubt they win??
the "infringing" company is using the same name, typeface, and color scheme of the established company.  I don't know what the new guys are selling, but I assume it's Chili.

You are right. They have a sign out front saying they serve chili.

The easiest way for me to tell would be to smack that on their Three-way and wait about 90 minutes . . .
