This is great news for the area. Although many people may be against call center jobs, these jobs are going in an area that could help to spur other development. Changing Eastland to a office/retail seems to have been a great idea.

Job well done to all those involved in bringing those jobs to Tulsa.

There is generally little use for ex-malls. Tulsa seems to be doing fairly well with them. One became a church, on became a theater and now one is office space.

Sad thing is, 300 call center employees means more people at eastland than have been there in a long time.

I wish the article said something about the pay scale.  280 @ $16 an hour and 20 management at 40K?  Or are these throw away positions starting at $9 an hour?

I welcome either I suppose, but would clearly prefer livable jobs.  Livable, in Tulsa, is probably around $12...

Likely 120 @ $10(tier1), 100 @ $11(tier2), 60 @ $15 (trainers, supervisors) and 20 at 50k+ (management)

That's not bad at all then (for uneducated labor).

for the people living in the surrounding slum apartments, $9 a hour would be a very liveable wage.

Viva de Este Metroplex!

300 new coke dealers? Is that good news?
Power is nothing till you use it.

I'm just glad most of the replies aren't condescending.

not really...since they will just be absorbing the dealers from the surrounding apartments.  no new jobs created.[}:)]

...I take it you've never lived in East Tulsa?

Hopefully this is the first big step in bringing new jobs to the East Tulsa area. I'm curious what this will do to the rest of the previous mall area, maybe there are more plans for this building?

Perhaps the need for Eastland's food court will arise again.  300 Coca-Cola employees + possibly others from other businesses have to eat lunch somewhere.
