Broken Arrow incumbents lose

Two of the three incumbents running for re-election in Broken Arrow lost their races Tuesday night. I am not sure of all the politics, but there was a lady on KRMG from the local paper who said that there were lots of out of city contributions from developers. The two candidates who received the most developer money both lost.

Council contributions top $51,000

Several candidates for city council have filed campaign contribution and expenditure reports for their campaigns, to-date. The forms are required by candidates whose total contributions exceed $500.

Ward 3 incumbent Tom Chatterton has reported total contributions of $20,891. Chatterton reports $1,000 each donations from O.M. Roland of Coweta, Roy Sturgeon of Broken Arrow, Darrell Jenkins of Bixby, Glenn Shaw of Tulsa, Melvin and Judy Gibson of Tulsa, Phil Roland of Coweta, Charles Ramsey Jr. of Tulsa, Steven Grim Sr. of Broken Arrow, J.D. and Marcella Harp of Tulsa, Perry and Diane Hood of Tulsa, Morgan Roland of Coweta, Tulsa Inc. Build Pac, Bob Dykes of Coweta, Reuben Dykes of Coweta, Jane Jenkins of Broken Arrow, Kathryn Church of Broken Arrow, Joseph Pickett of Broken Arrow, Ralph Ryder of Broken Arrow, Mike Case of Tulsa and Rob Robson of Tulsa. A $750 each donations were made to Chatterton's campaign by James and Cherry Bost of Tulsa, and Thomas F. Golden of Tulsa. Chatterton reported receiving contributions of $500 each from Alan and Cheri Hall of Broken Arrow, Edwin and Beverly Schermerhorn of Tulsa and Rick Hudson of Tulsa. Contributing $250 each to his campaign were Phil Rush of Broken Arrow, Dana Hutson of Broken Arrow, Paul Wilkening of Tulsa, Bill Brown of Broken Arrow and Mark McCroskey of Broken Arrow. Those making $200 each contributions to Chatterton's campaign include Marsha Parrish of Tulsa, Michael Parrish of Tulsa, David Parrish of Tulsa and Rebecca Parrish of Broken Arrow. Chatterton reported Raymond Miller made an in-kind donation of $1,000 in the form of a fundraiser. Additional donations of less than $200 each totaled $900.

Ward 4's incumbent, Judi Myers, reports contributions totaling $21,725. Donations of $1,000 each to Myers' campaign were made by Charles Ramsay Jr. of Tulsa, Tulsa Inc. Build PAC, Bill Brown of Broken Arrow, Glenn Shaw of Tulsa, PMR#8200;Investments of Coweta, Ray Miller of Tulsa and Roy Sturgeon of Broken Arrow. Making $750 each contributions to Myers' campaign were James and Cherry Bost of Tulsa, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Golden of Tulsa. Contributors of $500 each to Myers' campaign included Robert Cacy of Broken Arrow, Edwin and Beverly Schermerhorn of Tulsa, Bill and Luann Mizener of Sun City West, Ariz., and Rick Hudson. Lester and Leah Horner of Tulsa donated $300. Paul Wilkening of Tulsa contributed $250. Myers reported $675 in donations of $200 or less each.

At-large council incumbent Wade McCaleb reported a total of $1,574.50 in donations. Scott Graham of Broken Arrow and Rick Hudson of Broken Arrow contributed $1,000 and $500, respectively. McCaleb reported $74.50 in contributions of $200 or less.

Philip Tucker, who is challenging Myers for Ward 4, reported a total of $4,984 in contributions. Scott Graham of Broken Arrow contributed $1,000; John Lare and James Reynolds of Broken Arrow gave $250 each; and Keven Rondot of Broken Arrow contributed $500. Donations to Tucker's campaign of $200 or less totaled $2,764.

Kirk Walker, who is also running for Ward 4, reported a $1,000 contribution from Wayne Fields of Broken Arrow, $500 from George Kaiser of Tulsa, $300 each from Randy Clyma of Claremore and William Chapman of Tulsa; and $200 from James Dunne of Tulsa. Walker said he has received smaller donations totaling $25.

Ward 3 candidates Kimberly Fobbs and Mike Lester, Ward 4's Kevin Creaser, and at-large candidate Linda Stillwell Lind have not filed reports of campaign contributions and expenditures.

Too bad about Tom C, he is a stand-up guy who made real changes at the BA City Hall.  He worked his butt off to save BA money, increase efficiencies, and make public safety a real priority.  He is one ( R ) that I would have had no problem voting for.
