He said this morning on his radio show that Friday will be his last day at KFAQ and will be moving to Nashville.

He also said he will be telling everyone tomorrow what his calling to Nashville is all about on his morning show.

Hopefully Gwen, Michael (Bates) and Chris will keep the radio show going.Be interesting to see what the future of that morning radio show will hold.

Tulsa has been delivery-ed FROM delgiorno?

Tulsa FTW!

Good for him and good for Tulsa.

Bummer, that may leave us with one less indy type radio morning program in Tulsa.  I hope they find someone to take over, or just continue the program with their present talent pool.

Traveling through some major Tornado Warning areas Friday towards Houston I was hard pressed to locate any Radio Stations that had up to the minute Weather/News being broadcast at the local level.

Only true source of Weather Info I had was from my VHF Handheld radios which I have 3 channels programed for Weather in Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas when I travel to produce races in those states.  Sure comes in handy when the clouds begin to form on the horizon.  The Weather NOAA radio was giving me BASEBALL SIZE HAIL warnings along I-20, so I pulled off the highway and found a nice covered parking area near a cafe and enjoyed dinner there for an hour.

Most the stations FM and AM were the in the can pre-recorded models as in most Major areas. Newspaper, Radio and TV have all become Clones of oneanother with the big buyouts of the Media.

Tulsa is lucky to have KRMG and other INDY type stations that actually have live talent on board to broadcast Local and National emergency warnings to the population.

I wish Michael the best of everything on his new venture to Nashville.  Stop in at Memphis and stop at the Beale Street Cafe and enjoy a mess of Baby Back Ribs on your trip there.  They are some of the best!

... that's one less hypocrit in Tulsa.

Is it Tulsa's birthday?

What a gift!

Good riddance.  Gwen, Bates, and Chris?  That morning program is toast if that's all they got.

I've kind of figured ever since the casino scandal broke, he'd be sending out resumes.  I can't help but think his numbers were starting to tank.  He was great when he was on afternoons at KRMG, funny, didn't preach (as much), and entertaining.

It is most definately sad to see him go, but I knew it was only a matter of time before he moved up in the ranks of talk radio hosts.

Are you kidding me.  He was terrible.  Good riddance.

I always like to listen to him, he was fresh and real.  Never sounded like he was bought and sold by the sponsors on his format, other than when he did ad reads form them.

Perhaps the Imus thing seems to of opened up the Musical Chairs of Talk Show hosts.

I never understood the double standard of bashing done by radio and TV station programs.

Preachers are allowed to Bash and condem Gays and other minority groups while others are banned or even fired for saying one sentence regarding a group of individuals.

Funny the association with political and social movenments in the US all seem to revolve around Freedom of Speech.  But when it affects certain groups they can't seem to be able to take the heat.

Bet if Imus were to of used the Stereotype of "well endowed" males regarding an African American men's basketball team, no one would of protested that standard of thinking.  LOL

And speaking of the term Headed, what about Be-Headed.  That was all over the air waves at one time in recent history.  No one got fired for talking about that in public, and to me that was far worse than Nappy Headed.

At least Michael was an Independent Radio Talk Show personality and not some Canned person from another Village like so many Me Too Radio Stations have started using.  Local talent rather you like the message or not, is far better than being forced to listen to talking heads from some other state.

I say TulsaNow forumers should take it over.

Based on the Imus incident, we would all be subject to being fired the first day. LOL

Besides Tulsanow and the contributors is far better than radio, there is interactive action here and little if any sponsor interference ....

How many on here are self employed or have a position with the City/State government?

I am off to take the Photos and MOVIE of The Speed Bumps on Independence Street.  Funny they should choose that Street for their Speed Bumps.  Independence must have a double meaning today as well.

I'm sorry, but I don't consider stupid, myopic and self-righteous commentary to be a good option, even if it's local.

Well must admit he was in import from another state to begin with.... And his Religious Rants wore thin many times.

Still better than most the talking heads on the National level. At least it was a local theme at times.

Clark Howard is my favorite National Radio Talk Show Host. Is he is coming to Tulsa soon?

The Computer Diva is the other one that tops my list.

Just look at what the choices are today with National Radio Talk Shows.....

Wish Timothy Leary was still alive, I would listen to his Radio Program if anyone would allow it to be broadcast.  Frank Zappa would of been another great radio talk show host.

The sponsors, Corporate America Big Business choose what they want us to hear.  More like bought and paid for propaganda than open source code thinking.

I like to hear raw comments versus some canned scripted garbage.  I say bring back the Telephone call in programs and let the John Q Public have the Hour on that station.  Open Line Weekdays.

Amen.  Especially if he lives his life differently than he preaches.
