The Whirled has a habit of contributing it's political viewpoint.

Take the bridge out altogether and see how pretty it is. Add a Riverside Drive extension, "parkway", and it starts to get interesting.

I think we should build two bridges...one that connects to Yale and one that connects to Riverside Drive.

Then only half the traffic will be on each road.

They have conflict of interest. Lorton is partners in WindRiver.

Per Tulsa World FB post:

QuoteThe City Council is looking to spend $245,000 to begin developing the long-awaited Cousins Park in south Tulsa...

The chair of the Park Board asked the council to do that today at the Council subcommittee meetings. I am in favor of as many parks as we can afford and this one will serve a lot of people who don't live near a park now.

Someone once told me the long range trails plan included extending the dual trails along the river (that currently end at 71st) all the way to this park and eventually to the riverfront park in Bixby.  The site plan indicates a trail head but isn't clear if and where the trail goes through the park.  I know the next phase of trail construction is along the river around I-44 (to be started next summer once the Riverside interchange is finished) and then they want to do the stretch from 71st to the Creek trail while routing the new trail behind the casino.

Behind the casino would be nice.  I just wish we could get a little money for bike lanes on city streets.  It would show that bicycles are not only a means of recreation and excercise but also a means of commuting.

When I clicked on this, I thought this was going to be a thread about the I-44 bridge work holding up the last segment of the River Parks trail overhaul.
