I just received this email from Blockbuster so thought I would pass along to those who do not use their Online Service.  I can't vouch if it will be any faster but I hope so...

We want to let you know about some exciting changes to our service.

Announcing our new Tulsa distribution center!

Our new Tulsa distribution center, open as of July 19, 2007, brings our total number of distribution centers across the United States to 39.

What does this mean for you? Even faster delivery.

We know that receiving DVDs quickly is important to you. It's important to us, too.

Now, DVDs shipped to you from our Tulsa distribution center can arrive in your mailbox even more quickly than before. Plus, your returns will be processed in Tulsa – so you can receive the next DVD in your Queue even sooner!

Hmmm.  Where's this located?

I still prefer to get my videos at the BB store about a mile away.  I've not tried the netflix or BB offerings.

i guess this is why they jacked up the rates for their plans.  i promptly cancled when they wouldnt grandfather my plan.  their plans suck now..

I agree.  The only reason I went back to BB was due to trading in movies.  Now, I got a notice that my plan would no longer provide unlimited trade-in on my movies for 3 out at a time. If I want unlimited trade-ins, I have to lower my out number to 2 and have my rate increase.  Perhaps I will go back to Netflix.

Last week I had two movies that were still in my Queue even though I requested them to be shipped Tues morning.  I got up to Friday and still no movies and the website showed that they hadn't been shipped yet.  So I went and spent 5 bucks and got a movie. I get home and what do I find but those movies that showed they didn't ship yet in my mailbox!  I wasted $5 for nothing because they cant even show that the movies shipped.

I called their customer service and explained it to them and they gave me three free movie coupons. All I wanted was my five bucks back.  They seem to not be running smoothly at all.

I owned stock in Block Buster when they did the "no late fees" thing.  Turns out that was their major source of revenue.  Now they can not bring them back without losing all customers... and Netflix owns the mail/rental business.

Lost my shirt on that company.  Sold for a loss a few years ago.  Still hasnt recovered, glad I sold.

$1 Monday's at Reasor's.

Blockbuster does not know anything about customer service.  They tell people to bring in their movies for a trade out and then turn around and limit you on the tradeouts since they dont like the frequency of the tradeouts.

Netflix lowered their fees.  No trades.

Been happy with them for 4 years.  Some troubles with speed but overall...little to complain about.

This is my plan with BB. I basically can get up to 5 movies per month for $6. I have never had a problem with it. Order on Mon get on Weds. Now with the new DC in Tulsa, it will take less time. I was with Netflix for about 3 months. Hated it. Receiving times varied from week to week. Sometimes it would take 3 days others it would take 4 and I could not exchange.

Good for Tulsa. Bad in that Blockbuster sucks.

I've been with Netflix for about two years. Can't complain at all. I can watch five or six DVDs a month for $9.

that WAS your plan.  that plan doesnt exist anymore and you will be switched soon.  free coupons are GONE and unlimited exchanges are GONE.  and no you wont be grandfathered in.

I was on the Blockbuster $10 plan for 1 at a time unlimited with unlimited in-store trades.  Now those in-store trades are limited to 2 per month.  I also get a coupon once a month for another free movie or game.  I don't know if this will continue or not.

This is a totally great plan, even with the new restrictions on in-store exchanges.  Last I checked, Netflix didn't even have a store to do exchanges in.  I can easily watch 8 movies a month for $10.  Blockbuster also has cheaper plans that operate just like Netflix with no in-store services.  I don't see anything wrong with BB at all.

The reason I like Netflix is that I don't have to deal with driving to and from the store to select, take home and return the DVD. The Internet site and the mailman take care of that for me.

Also, Blockbuster was notorious for not stocking DVDs of indie films. It also was stupid for not offering letterboxed films when the demand starting rising. And the selection at any one Blockbuster store was erratic, to say the least.

Netflix solved those problems with a competitive price, and Blockbuster has been playing catch-up ever since.
