The Tulsa Police are doing their annual fundraiser for Special Olympics by hanging out on the roof of Krispy Kreme all weekend.  They have a bucket that they lower down while cars are in the drive through and accept change from donut customers.

If you give ten bucks, they give you a free dozen donuts. For twenty five, they also throw in a t-shirt.

It is a great cause and an sweet way for all of us to help.
Power is nothing till you use it.

I'm all for that T Shirt deal. How about Mayor Kathy Taylor wearing one of them T Shirts in a Dunk Tank? At $10 a throw, she'd easily raise enough money to pay off the arena and there wouldn't be a need for the River Vote.

Saying that, this is a great cause to help the Special Olympics and I hope you all give as I well tomorrow. Big thanks to the TPD, for a great cause!

K.K. Donuts are the ones I can't stand. The stuff they put in the donuts reads like a chem. lab formula (to perserve them I guess). I don't eat many donuts anyhoo.[xx(]

That's certainly a great reason to overlook the purpose of the fundraiser
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

We went this morning...the kids really enjoyed talking to the officer on the roof.

I also bought a dozen creme filled donuts glazed and decorated like little footballs that I took to the Tulsa Packer Backers tailgate party this morning.

The place was packed...I don't know what kind of Sunday morning business that store has on a normal day, but it was packed today.

There's better ways to fund raise than to do it around a donut shop. Not everyone likes donuts. Why not use restaurants, or some place where more people go? I'd be glad to give a few bucks  but since I don't go into donut shops I would never know about this fundraiser.

Don't remind me of football, My favorite team the Michigan Wolverines are in the pot. They lost another game Saturday. I can't believe it. Lloyd Carr has to go![B)][xx(]

This is in my hometown of Waterloo, Iowa.  I have eaten at that donut shop and this picture is fairly famous on the net.  I'm so proud.

Good idea for a fund raiser, in fact it is a regular contribution of Krispy Kreme to the communities it serves.   Hope it went (goes) well for them.  What did the shirts say?

Did you hear that Brett Favre can't get into his own driveway? Someone painted an end zone on it so he just turned his car over to someone who was able to drive it home.

Q. What's the difference between a Green Bay Packer fan and a carton of yogurt?
A. The yogurt has culture.

/Chicago fan from Iowa.

Though I greatly appreciate the great packer poem:

I thought Michigan was going to come out angry and ready... I guess they are just really bad this year in earnest.  Could be a very, very long season for you.  I guess it wouldnt be as bad if Wolverines didnt enter the season with such high hopes.

I don't wanna get off topic but in reply to the above post, I agree Lloyd Carr has to go. His record was/is one of consistently under-performing. His number of wins is not that great and his record of bowl game wins is in the dumper. This season for us Michigan Wolverine fans is over. The only good thing is I hope we can beat Tressel's Buckeyes this year. Nov. 17th is one of the biggest ball games around when the Michigan Wolverines take on the Ohio Buckeyes. Since Tressel came to power 6 years ago the Wolverines won only one game against the Buckeyes. That cannot stand. It won't be a total wash-out year if only we can beat the Buckeyes and spoil Tressel's season. The MI-OH game is one of the biggest rival ballgames around.
