I guess I'm really confused.

Was GP airlines ever put to a vote?
Was there more public money than public?
Was it created to provide recreation for the community?
Did the private sector donate a hundred million plus in free airfare or something for all to enjoy?

I guess I don't really see how that tangent is particularly relevant here.  Seems the city saw a juicy piece of fruit and jumped on it.  Had it been 10 years earlier it probably would have succeeded.  Oh well, we are better off without a "hub" airport ruining our EPA ratings anyway.

That said, if the best funded is the most corrupt side, I assume you are not voting Democratic this election cycle.  For that matter, you would not have voted for Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt... horrible people because they were well funded.  The new deal lobby was mostly funded by construction companies and labor unions - it had no real anti-lobby - you probably hate that too.

Speaking of yawn... what a lazy argument.  Its easy to pull out when you want to, but ignore it if your side has more money. If "they" have more money its because they are corrupt, if "you" have more money its because you're right.

Thank you, cf, for bringing a bit of sanity to this discussion.

Hey could I get some help here....!

I found this article on the Metro Chamber site...

Just curious.. What do you suppose the incentive would be for a BOK, QT, worker if they showed up after voting with their "I Voted" sticker and had voted NO

Businesses throughout the county are encouraging their employees to go to the polls for this election period and some have even created incentives for those employees who do turn up to vote. The election offices and precinct locations will be issuing “I Voted stickers to individuals who vote this election period. This is a great way to identify your employees who have voted and provide them with an incentive for doing so. A watch party for volunteers and contributors will be held on Tuesday, October 9, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Southern Hills ballroom.

Rico, I don't suppose an employee has to tell ANYONE how they voted in any election in America.  Nor is it legal to reward one for voting in a particular manner pr discriminate against any other manner.  If you are trying to imply QT, Bok or anyone else is FORCING their employees to vote a certain way come out and say it and then file a petition in open court.

Man, I'm not even sure I'm on the "Vote Yes" side but the "NO" camp surely is not persuading anyone with this crap.

The Election Eve Watch Party for the Grass-Roots NO RIVER TAX organization has not selected a venue yet.

Reportedly, the John 3:16 Mission is being solicited for the availability of their building for a Vote NO Watch Party.

I'm in! [:P]

I always get a chuckle when I see things like "personal services" on campaign expenditures.  I have a picture of hookers issuing reciepts for their personal services.

Anybody else remember the last time KFF got involved in a campaign? That campaign was using the same illegal signature gatherers as the TABOR campaign.

Sadie's Coffee House - Home of the Vote No watch party!

6:30pm election night until the results are announced (10pm?).

567 E. 36th St. N. - The old Northland Shopping Center

There is plenty of parking, plenty of room, a nice little movie theater in which to watch the returns, and comfortable chairs in which to sit while we wait to celebrate.

Any predictions on the final campaign expenditures for the Kaiser River Tax Vampires?

Will they bust through $2 million?  $3 million?

It's already a local campaign spending record for a non-partisan election.

A very wise salesman once told me:

The HARDER the pitch, the POORER the product.

Hmmmmmh?

Probably applies to the avalanch of Vote Yes spending.......
