i will the prototypes are almost done... got a tweak them...
did a cursory patent search and nothing hits that seems to cover it, or even close... which is what i thought or we'd already be using it...

Don't sweat the prototypes, it's not necessary to file the application if you're sure it's going to be operable.  Patent rights and certain usages can create a ticking time bomb if you're not careful...
