KRMG had this on their website...

(Tulsa, OK) -- Trinity Grocery Investments, LLC holds a job fair at the Rudisill Library Friday and Saturday. It's a positive sign for the neighborhood which has been without a grocery store since last summer. The Albertson's at Pine and Peoria closed in June. There's no word on when the new store might open. However, several hundred people filled out applications at the job fair in anticipation of the Trinity group opening a Freedom Mart in the area.

Is that a good sign that so many people want to work at a north Tulsa grocery or a bad sign that so many people are willing to take an $8 an hour job?

Don't really know if this qualifies as an answer to your question.... However; When Sager opens his Deli/Grocery that he has said will be part of the 1st Street Lofts, I would work for free to help the project be successful...

Well.... I may need a Pastrami and a break to check out the happenings... But mostly for free.

Pretty O/T but since you brought Sager up, is he a crook?  Or are his finances just real binary?  Seems like he gets sued pretty often.

No comment necessary on that really.

SGrizzle is just being modest about the web work he did for them...

Like we haven't made fun of other websites before? lol

And the questions seem legit to me. I hope they get the store and are able to open it. My feeling is that they are probably "new" at all of this and have made some mistakes. Dont we all? And we could certainly rely on our ever vigilant friends on here to point them out to us so that we can hang our heads in shame and learn from them lol.

Your comments suggest more about how you see and treat others because your obviously putting that perspective on us.  Someone is either, completely for or completely against. They are either pollyanna or negative nancies.  I can criticize the dickens out of someone and still be hopeful for them and welcome them with open arms. And btw, we really would like to see you at some of our get togethers. I like hearing your opinions and viewpoints. Every once in a while you do manage to stumble across a good point. [;)]

He doesn't have time. Too busy being an apologist for the North side and their representation on the council. Smart guy with poor eyesight.

Artist, don't worry about how they'll stock that grocery. If they have a phone number and decent credit those vendors will seek them out and their reps will stock and floor plan the place. There are also grocery warehousers, (Fadlers?), that serve the retail grocers. Think of a grocer the same way as a restaurant. Restaurant supply houses own most everything in the place including silverware. The restauranteur is simply a manager of the elements (labor, design, accounting, advertising, etc.)

Last number I remember was that the average grocery store had over 30,000-50,000 different items. Probably closer to 100,000. Most individual grocers are doomed though. Unless you are a member of a co-op or have multiple locations the economics and complexity are staggering. That is why I am more inclined to think the St.Louis grocer who was already established would have a better chance in north Tulsa.

Any time someone comes out and says they have a pla and things are moving along but they are "looking for investors" I'm skeptical. Some previous hits include:
1. The Channels
2. Sand Springs ampitheater
3. Sand Springs year-round snowskiing
4. The American Project
5. Kanbar/Kaufman's downtown revitalization
6. Freedom-Mart

The most brief reason I can give for some of the actions taken against Mister Sager..... Well let's put it this way.

Sinatra before he passed was somewhat outspoken in dealing with the public and individuals...

Was Sinatra a crook.....? I don't think he was..

Did some people want to punch him in the wallet..?  But of course..

Michael has been involved in many business deals with some that that became the definition of the man.

Does anyone know anybody who went to this "job fair"? It would be interesting to hear what they were told.
