Guess I have to go to Denver, Co. for this sort of thing...

No great loss. My wife and I went there twice, once right after they first opened and once more recently.

Both times the food was lousy....

And when I went there, many of the games were broken.

What happened?  It sucked.  Just like Casa Bonita.  I didn't think they could make the food much worse, but they did.

Food and decor sucked big time. No suprise. You can't put lipstick on a pig!

I enjoyed Casa Bonita for the funky atmosphere and the sheer amusement of it.  Mostly because it was craptacular.  But it offered reasonably prices food that was OK and games for the kid.  So it was an annual event most years.

Casa Viva kept the same withering atmosphere but the food was VERY bland, more expensive, the service sucks, and the games were half broken when I was there.  I went exactly once about a month after it opened.  It failed to impress so we just go to Blazing Peppers for good Mexican food.

So yeah, it sucked so it closed.  Interesting concept poorly executed.

Well hopefully they will get back up and running long enough for everybody and their dog to line up for two city blocks just to eat there "one last time" before they close like they did when Casa Bonita closed. Sometimes the people in this city amaze me.

Why??? If you really miss the food, just go to QT, buy a couple of patio burritos and a can of Wolf chili.  Same difference, less chance of getting food poisoning.

They had called my company to renovate part of the mechanical system when they were getting ready to re-open.  I was actually thankful we didn't get the contract, they were scrimping on everything because the last owner of Casa Bonita took most all the fixtures, built-in furniture, and kitchen equipment.

Pretty disgusting to see how years of filth built up in that kitchen.  Trust me- you don't want one last meal there made by people about to lose their job!

I thought he was talking about nostalgia for things that are not good.  As in, it sucks - but I want it one more time because its closing.

I call for a clarification!

Do you really want to eat re-fried beans cooked by someone who is losing their job AND having to move out of state due to HB-1804?  Talk about feeling crapped on... get my drift?  Hey, you're welcome to take your chances, but I'll pass.

Oh hell no.  I did not mean to imply it was my mindset, merely what he was calling for,

And Inteller, I agree.  That place is hell on Earth.  I've been several times, including my sons bday.  I'm actually a bit disturbed by the memory (good pizza though).

Last time I went there, this summer, I did get food poisoning. I was sick as a dog for a few days.
