They said so on the radio this morning "to pursue other interests." Wonder if she got sick of listening to Medlock? Anyone know what went on behind the scenes?

Changed Gewn to Gwen in title- Mod

MDG: C'mon baby, Nashville is great!
GF: What about my contract?
MDG: Oh, who cares what you signed!
CM: Hey, what about me?
MDG: What about you? You are doing great! Now you and Michael Bates and Charlie Biggs can have it all to yourself!
GF: Yeah, you guys are so smart, why do you need a professional host? All you gotta do is just throw some nonsense out there like we always did.
CM: Yeah, people like me, they really do!
MDG: Slide on on over here Gwenny . . .

I honestly have not listened much in recent history.  Their incessant anti-gay, anti illegal alien, anti-muslim message was very, very old.

That morning show had lost it's informational and entertainment value long before DelGiorno left town.

I've said it a million times already- I sure do miss Ehrling in the morning.  Joe Kelley sounds like a nice guy, but he's no Ehrling.

I like Kelly pretty well. He's pleasant and certainly conservative but he tries hard to fairly present different sides of an issue no matter his own feelings which is very refreshing compared to KFAQ.

My issue with the KRMG morning show is that there is not enough real content, they spend so much time on advertising and then the constant traffic and weather that the more substantive content gets lost.

Conan71

Funny you say that Swake.  The main reason I listen to KRMG in the morning is for traffic, weather, and news.  I commute through the IDL around to the west side on 75 south, and I like to get caught up on the news on the fly and it's good know if I need to take side streets to work because some numpty wrecked along my normal route.

KRMG doesn't seem to get too hung up on issues which is nice.

KRMG +1

I listen to KRMG while getting ready and usually plug into NPR on my way to work (straight shot to work) to see if anythings going on in the world (KRMG mornings may mention world events, but doesn't go into depth).

I really don't need some talking head telling me what to think about the days events before I know what the days events are.  I also am not a fan of the "shock jock" morning things that usually spend most of their time laughing a themselves.

Oh, and I despise chick DJs in general.  I'm not saying female radio personalities or even female radio DJs.  I mean the chick DJs, the ones that do 104.5 or other rock stations at night and try to act as cool/ditsy as possible.  Makes me want to drive down to the station and go on a kill crazy rampage.  But I don't, because that would be wrong.

I crush grooves.

On the 'other' forum they say that Chris smacked a mic on-air during a segment about Terry Simonson, that Gwenny walked off and has not been back since.  Of all the crap that has gone on there for her to take a stand about that is stoopid.

cks511

Yep, I was listening that morning she apparently started 'not feeling well' and left. But sounded okay before the incident.  LOL.  Too funny

My complaint isn't with really with the weather or traffic, it's just them combined with the massive amount of ad time there isn't much time left. Are there not regulations on how much ad time a radio station can have?

Two years ago, a friend of my wife's called Medlock "immature."

I guess things never change.

Medlock carrying a show my himself ... that'll be a train wreck.

well the donkey is gone.  Now we just have Beavis and Butthead on Tuesdays.  Hopefully we won't get beavis and Butthead 5 days a week.

Well, well.  The local Ruling power establishment usually gets exactly what they want.

This time, they got even a little more.

They wanted City Councilor Chris Medlock out of office.

And, they got certainly it.

Now, they've got him controlling a microphone on the public airwaves, for 17 1/2 hours per week, talking about local public policy.

Excedrin Headache #1 for the ruling Power Oligarchy.

Meet city councilors Turner, Henderson and Eagleton:

Oligarchy Excedrine Headaches #2, #3, and #4.

I don't think Medlock is going to be a headache for anyone as as much as a sleeping pill. [}:)]

Maybe he ought to do Ambien commercials.

Excedrine Headaches? I don't think that is the phrase I would've used...

Radio is a real simple business paradign:

It's all about Ratings.

If people tune in, he will prosper.

If they don't, he'll be replaced.

I wish him well as the host of the KFAQ Morning Show, and also wish his former Co-Host Gwen Freeman well in her future vocational pursuits.
