I know I'm going to get savaged for mentioning this, but the summary ratings that swake and RM have quoted are for the entire day, from 6 a.m. to midnight, and for listeners age 12 and up. They don't necessarily translate to the relative popularity of morning drive shows.

Stations sell time based on daypart ratings (e.g. 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.). Advertisers tend to be concerned about key demographics, particularly the 25-54 age range, which has the most disposable income.

It's mathematically possible that KFAQ is beating KRMG for the morning drive shift with adults 25-54, but, because KRMG's national talk shows -- particularly Limbaugh and Hannity -- are more popular and better established in Tulsa than KFAQ's national line-up, KRMG does better when you average out the entire day and all demographics. I haven't seen actual numbers, but it's my understanding that KRMG hasn't beaten KFAQ in morning drive for adults 25-54 since early in DelGiorno's tenure.

You may now commence to calling me names and accusing me of drinking the KKKFAQoolaid, etc.

You're okay MB.  I thought the Arbitron book broke down time slots and ages clearly.  Shows how much I've retained from my days in advertising.

The actual ratings book does break things down by time slot and ages, but that information is provided only to subscribers, not to the general public. The numbers you find on websites, like those RM and swake posted, are aggregates of the entire day and all demographics.

It only FIGURES that SWAKE and RecycleMichael published a half-truth.

They LOVE the Lorton's World, too, where the Half-Truth is their Coin-of-the Realm.

It wasn't a half-truth. Those numbers are real and accurate. It doesn't change the fact that KFAQ is a mediocre-ratings radio station in a medium-sized market.

Well, either of those bloviating blowhards either KNEW they were telling a half-truth by representing 18-hours of radio market capture as  related to the KFAQ MORNING SHOW'S performance, or else they were too STUPID to know.

Which is it?

INTENTIONAL Bias, or mere STUPIDITY?

Let's be generous, and blame it on intentional bias.

They cooked intepretation of the full day's rating numbers to advance their hatred of KFAQ and Mr. Medlock.

About what I'd expect from Tulsa Trailer Trash.

Or, I'm betting, you're simply too dense to read and actually comprehend the numbers.

First of all, I don't hate KFAQ or the DJ.

Secondly, we provided as many facts are as available without being a subscriber. I don't doubt that what Michael Bates posted is true, I just don't have the ability to see if a particular time slot is rated any higher than any other time. It may be true, it may be false.

You never, ever, provide any facts, just off-the wall accusations.

You put the "you" in innuendo.

So Gwen Freeman would quit a successful morning show over one little incident? Riiiiight.  Either there were more than one episode and/or the show was tanking. Probably both, actually.

See, Michael Bates, the problem folk would have with you on this is emblematic of how you operate with everything else.  You would clearly have the inside story or at least some version of it to share with readers but you do not.  Instead, you put up some bull$#!^  strawman argument that no one can say definitively that KRMG's AM show beats KFAQ's.  That is not the issue.  The issue is that something so outrageous happened that Gwen walked off the set and vowed - contract or no contract - to not come back.

Stay on point, boys.

Tim, I was responding to the direction the thread had taken.

As to your point, yes, I do know more than I'm telling, and when it's appropriate, I may have more to say, but it's not appropriate right now.

KRMG John Erling Frette's decline vis-a-vis the KFAQ Morning Show was precisely the reason that big John got retired.

While he hadn't lost his entire audience, the 25-54 age bracket had largely moved elsewhere.

And, the Tulsa Beacon's outing of the $200K annually paid to his wife Margeret as a "Lobbyist" for TPS, EMSA, TTC, TMUA to ensure "peace" with perhaps Big John's potential grifting shake-down racket lost him enormous credibility maybe contributed as well?

Fine with me.  I was just pointing out that the whole argument can be put to bed if either station would publicize its numbers.  I am guessing that they are forbidden from doing so by Arbitron?

Ehrling? Who? That is soooo 2002.  Get over it . . .

Just for the record, I think Chris is doing OK, and I thought Gwen was just fine, too.

I plainly stated that they were the ratings for the station. I never said for the show. You seem to have some issues with reading comprehension. The site I linked to also plainly states that the ratings are for listeners over 17 from 6am to 12pm. If I was trying to hide anything why would I give you the raw data that I am citing?

It's not like KRMG has slightly better ratings, KRMG's ratings are triple what KFAQ's are. I don't know what the day part ratings are, but I have a hard time believing that KFAQ is winning the most important part of the day, morning drive, but still only has one third of the total listeners that KRMG has. Until someone provides real demonstrable facts that say otherwise, the facts we actually do have lead me to believe that KFAQ is not winning the morning show segment, I would bet it's not even close.

Sorry, we're catching you SHAPE-Shifting again,i.e. dissembling.

To quote your earlier post:

Chris Medlock is the remaining co-host of the morning show on the 14th ranked station in town out of 19. His main competitor has three times the listeners he does.

Medlocks main TALK-SHOW competitor is Joe Kelly on KRMG.

YOU DO NOT KNOW, and cannot show that Joe Kelly has three times the listeners of the KFAQ Morning show.

Your serial lies are just digging you a deeper hole.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire.

Swake the Snake is telling half-truths, and he got called on it.

Why do YOU care?

Because you are a Co-Dependent Contributing Dissembler on this forum, trying to say the KFAQ Morning Show ratings are Low, when in fact you do not and cannot show that they are.

You dredged up the overall station Arbitron Ratings, which do NOT show how any particular time slot is performing.

The question remains to be answered:

Was your slanting of the Arbitron "facts" intentional bias, or merely stupidity?
