as long as nobody ever pees in your hot tub, youre fine ;)
ozone is probably fine for a lightly used hot tub but cannot function as a stand alone system for pools... it can effectively kill bacteria, fungus, and virii- it is ineffective against algae... but most importantly, it has no residual... which means that ozone systems have no effect on urea, ammonia, or amino acids until they are halogenated (i.e. combined with chlorine or bromine)... once halogenated, they can easily be oxidized... so in a stand alone ozone system, the wastes remain problematic and algae can be a bear... but there are newer combined (salt+o3) systems, that get rave reviews...
