I noticed that there are a couple people on the TMAPC board whose terms expired last month (January 2008): Wesley Harmon and Keith McArtor.  Anybody know who might be replacing them?  How does the process work?

I think there's another thread on this subject, but an appointed TMAPC member continues to serve until a successor is appointed or he/she is reappointed.

BTW, Joshua A. Walker is being appointed to replace Stephanie Cantees, who resigned.

If the Mayor does not choose a candidate for appointment or reappointment within 60 days the Council can choose who to consider as a candidate for appointment or reappointment. Prop 6 on the 2006 ballot(passed)

^Yes, that was a significant improvement on the process for City appointments.  I voted "FOR" that proposition.

Mayor Taylor will need to either re-appoint Keith McArtor or appoint a replacement by March 18.  Otherwise, the City Council will have the authority to make an appointment.

Wesley Harmon was appointed by the County Commission.

I hope she is stupid enough to re-appoint McArtor, that will be one more nail in her coffin. Knowing Da Mare, she'll sacrifice him before she would jeopardize herself.

uh no, she doesn't need to reappoint Mr "I've not made up my mind I'm just leaning" McArtor.  For some reason when he explains himself I think of wide stances and reaching for toilet paper.

I sent in my application, but I doubt I'll get picked by Krazy Kathy.  But Krazier things have happened.  I'd love to go toe to toe on the board with her lapdog Midgett.

Does the "Head of the Parks Department" fall into this category.

This office has been vacant for longer than sixty days when Mary Anne Summerfield retired....
She had been appointed by "Billy the Big Bopper LaFortuna"

Would seem like a priority with all the Park Rehab. on the agenda.

It only pertains to the ABC's and trusts. If she was serving on any of those, resigned from those, and the deadline had passed, it would apply only to those.

I've known Josh for ages, I think he'll be a good choice.  I think it does make a certain amount of sense to have people on the board who actually know something about real estate.

Of course having someone who is impartial would be much better.
